David, I’m assuming your 37 is ppt (parts per thousand), and if that is the case, it converts to 1.028 sg (specific gravity). I used THIS conversion website and also want to point out that they do not mention temperature. Temperature is important in specific gravity measurements, and I believe this website is using 60F. To point out temperature effects on specific gravity, here’s examples of saltwater made at 35 ppt and the corresponding specific gravity measurements at 60, 70 and 80 degrees:
At 60 degrees F
35 ppt = 1.026 S.G.
At 70 degrees F
35 ppt = 1.025 S.G.
At 80 degrees F
35 ppt = 1.023 S.G.
At 60 degrees F
35 ppt = 1.026 S.G.
At 70 degrees F
35 ppt = 1.025 S.G.
At 80 degrees F
35 ppt = 1.023 S.G.
