Tried painting the vally's grey, Didn't like it. Tried the antique, Didn't like it cause I think I have to mix a tint of blue in it.
I did put on one of the Accents and the trim around the bottom of the tank. Just have to refinish that and all the dents on the corner and front from trying to get it thru my door and around the small corner thats there.
Keep the Ideas comming please.

I'm getting ready to give up on the paint job and drape a drop cloth over the front of it. When it was at work, I had lots of time to work on it and plan it. Now that I brought it home, I have no time to work on it.

wow mike, that stand looks great wonderful job, i know who to ask for help when i need to change my stand ;D

Thanks Gabe. I'm not happy with it. I think my next one will get sent out to a paint or detail shop.

mike,

it looks great!!

i loved the top section with the modling around the tank and the raised edge... you are the master!!

if you think it is plain... how about use those patterned spray paint to finish it?

Are you dead set on it being mainly white? What about doing all the flat surfaces in a faux finish and leaving the trim white?

There you go...Make it look like it's marble or granite or something.

Thanks everyone.
While I was building it, I did have a piece of granite laying around. I cut it to fit on both sides of the front, but it was an inch and a half thick and looked to bulky. Maybe a marble or granite tile which is thinner?

They have those faux marble and granite spray paints. I've seen some applications that look pretty good. I've never used it personally though, so I have no idea how hard it is to get it to look good.

I think if I put one of them fireman fans next to the tank and blow the air out the window, that might work. What part would look good painted the faux? All the flutes and rosettes or inbetween them where the accent is?
John. Next time this heavy thing gets moved is when it goes to your house. In your finished basement, when I upgrade again. Thanks for the ideas.
