Re: Here's my now 375 (was 120) by Bax

So, I found a good home for the first nem split, then it split again!

Last night both splits found a Tunze 6,000  !!!

NOT GOOD!!! :-[

There are nem bits everywhere! I just changed a bag of carbon so I'll do it again tomorrow. I shut down the Tunzes, and found three huncks'o nem, I put each one in safe holes in the rocks. I am sure there are more, I hope I end up with one as this has been one beautiful nem for many years now! :-\

Re: Here's my now 375 (was 120) by Bax

Hey Bax - Ouch on the nem getting sucked in! I had mine ramble into a powerhead of much lesser capacity and it was still pretty ugly. I did survive, but I also saw fleshy bits all over the tank. Not the best feeling. Hopefully that work on the carbon will keep things in line.

Re: Here's my now 375 (was 120) by Bax

Thanks Bob

This morning, two of the three hunks'o nem are looking really bad and if they don't improve, I'll pull them out. The largest hunk, that actually looked the worst of all initially, was stuck to the PH screen. this morning it looked the "best", not good, but the "best". I removed the screen and moved it to it's old spot, it detached so I set in in side a PVC coupling on a spot on the rock that should be OK for it. I hope it will attach and heal up. :p

Re: Here's my now 375 (was 120) by Bax

Well, you know I have that clone, and it's gonna split for me someday...so you can get it back if the worst happens.

Re: Here's my now 375 (was 120) by Bax

Thanks Jim!

It looks like one of the hunks might have chance ... time will tell ::)

Re: Here's my now 375 (was 120) by Bax

The man doesn't have a reef tank, he has a couple of holding tanks. ::) Let's have a picture of the LR holding tub!

Re: Here's my now 375 (was 120) by Bax

His holding tubs probably look better then my tank. ;D

And that is no excuse BTW.

OK ! OK !

I have a bunch of pics, but can not find my damned camera cable!!!! :-X

Live rock tub looks good! Nem looks aweful! Corals great! Fish even better!!!

Re: Here's my now 375 (was 120) by Bax

Still can't find the cable to my Olympus, so I took these with my Kodak, so no underwater pics.

No FTS shots as there's no real display. The 90 the 75 form an L so this is the view of the 90. The Derasa has gotten HUGE!

Over the past few weeks, I have lowered the 400s over the 90 where the SPS are and increased the flow I've also tuned up the MTC ProCal Ca Rx.

Since then the SPS are really switching into high gear. The blue prostrata has never been bluer

My frags are really looking better too

The 75 has mostly montis, zoas, and LPS (favis, froggy, trumpets) and the nem or what's left of em ::) This hammer was a suprize hitch hicker on live rock I bought a few years ago. It was only one small head but has really taken off now.

Here's the teneti tang swimming above the 1" PVC couple that I placed over the healing nem.

The one nem piecs seems to be doing OK in this makeshift shelter

The tenneti has not shown its juvi colors since the move and is a real stunner!

I'll try to pick up a new cable for the Olympus soon.

.... I need a display tank! :p

... And a frag tank! ::)

Re: Here's my now 375 (was 120) by Bax

Wow that end view is really cool, you can see how everything really spread out.
Thanks for the pics.

Re: Here's my now 375 (was 120) by Bax

BTW

That little nem in the 1" PVC couple is all that remains of that ginourmous RBTA in the last 120 end pic! :-[

It is also the same nem in the 26 and 75.

But, it looks like it is going to recover, so I'll just have to grow him back to his bubblt tipped awesomeness! Or wait for Jim's to split! 8)

All of your pics looked great. Sorry to hear about the nem. It looks like it was a nice one. Would you happen to know what makes them "bubble". I have one that bubbled when I first got it, split about 4 times in six years and only the clone seems to bubble. I love these anemones the color is real deep, but they are stringy. the bubbles would make them awesome.

I was going to post when I get a chance and ask around, but since you brought up the Bubbles!

Re: Here's my now 375 (was 120) by Bax

When you say stringy, like the nem on the right in the first pic of the 26 bow?

If so, it's water quality IMO. Once I moved the nem to the 75 with more water volume, more flow and MUCH better skimming it really turned and becme the beautiful nem we all know and love. When I moved it to the 120 and really kicked up the flow it grew to gigantic proportions. Mine has only split due to the stress of Alk swings ... Whose fualt is that? ::)

RBTAs love clean clear water, solid params, tons of flow and high light IME.

Re: Here's my now 375 (was 120) by Bax

It is funny because I was shocked, mine moved around to place itself right in front of a wavemaker. It is pretty low in the tank though. I am sure it picks up lots of food where it is though so maybe that is why. Of course this is in the back of the tank where you really have to go looking for it but if it is happy and healthy OH well.
