You and Wendy did get my wife into sticks, but you are my LPS hero Bill.

Bill

Thanks, believe me buddy all you have to, is drop by and you'll have some SPS ;D

Wendy's results are amazing!

Re: Here's my now 375 (was 120) by Bax

So, here are some pics of some of the many trumpets that have ;D
They grow well, as does the red stringy algea where ever I still have egg crate. I have to get rid of this stuff! Both the egg crate and the red stuff!!

Here's another next to a cluster of nuclear greens.

And here's another. And under this one you can see the last of the RBTA to recover from the split and Tunze shredding :p

Been so busy at work and when I can, I've been helping Scott with the 120, but soon, very soon, I'll be plumbing in the 100 and another 75. I need the room! I need to do a fragging and I adopted a few fish from a tank shut down in a near by town. I got a sweet little YT in the deal to replace the one I lost and two damdselzs ::).

Re: Here's my now 375 (was 120) by Bax

From the "You Can't Make This Stuff Up" files ::)

I was hanging a nori clip this morning. My 90 and 75 are essentially open top with hanging lights at this point. They form a corner with the right end of the 75 about 2" or less off the front of the 90 as I saw a splash of water, well more like a small wave hit the front of the 90 which tops out about 7" higher then the 75 with a "SLAP!", and then thought I heard a "plunk!"

I thought, that's odd, so I started looking around. Well, must have surprised the heck out of the Coral Beauty. The CB managed to clear the water line and top of the 75, carrying a rather large volume of water with it, it had to have bounced of the side of the 90 and ricochet its way down, under the it and into the drain end of my sump. Luckily it didn't end up in a sock where I would not have seen it.

My sump is set up so I can just reach the socks for changing, not so I can catch wayward angel fish. What a PITA catching him out!

So while there I changed some socks, which was needed. Also just looked around the sump to check things out, and noticed that one of my heaters was litterally sucked into the intake for BH my Dart! Ooops! I have a strainer cover for that some place! ::)

All's well that ends well. The CB would be a huge dirt surf'n loss had it gone that way as it is one of my first SW fish acquisitions and a 26 bow nano veteran from over 5 years ago. 8)

i use 12k reeflux also (DE 3x250), how low are your bulbs to the surface? mine are only about 4-5 inchs. its a MH/T5 combo. i am thinking of raising it since i get a lot of salt creep on it. gotta clean it once a week. already cost me most of my moonlight LED's. wondering what effect it would have raising it another 4-5 inches.

Re: Here's my now 375 (was 120) by Bax

Wow corals look great! You have the 400w reeflux 12k no actinic supplements at all?

Mine are SE and they are in LA minis a good 10" off the water. The LA minis make all the difference in the world. Anything below 6-7" adds way too much heat to the tank IMO.

Thanks NickJr! I always used T-5 supps on my 75 and 120, but in this holding set up I have not used anything but the 12K Reeflux. I am beginning to wonder if I need anything else. ;D

i agree, but luckily beacuse my tank is in-wall i can hang a couple huge fans mounted behind the tank. i have them set to my ranco controller to kick on at 78 degrees. they run pretty much everyday, on and off while the MH's are one. but my chiller doesnt run all that much (set to kick on at 80), only on really hot days.

Well amazingly enough and without a moment to spare, my new heater was finally installed in my shop just yesterday!

I don't think I could have fended off the deep chill tempuratures of today, had it not been set up.

Whew! :p

Now I can think about setting up these 100 and 75 displays without fearing total disaster on any given chilly night. It's big load off my mind. :D

Hey John!

Pics Have been difficult to take given the layer upon layer of Styrofoam plastic sheting and tarps I have been using to keep the system heat in the system. Not the norm for most of us reefers! We're usually spending a fortune to remove or limit heat!!! Now with the camera cable back in my possession and the heat in place. I promiss some pics soon!!! ;D

There is one positive about all these delays, I 've had a lot of time to learn about this new building and I can see where, had I done everything at once, I'd have made some big mistakes. I think in the long run, I'll end up with a much more solid system, given the limitations and problems with this space. No industrial building was made for this hobby! 8)
