Here's my Big Office System

The sump is all done, just have to let it cure a day or two and I can water test it. Then I can drill out the BH for the Dart and swap it in.

That is huge as the I can connect the 150! It is almost full of RODI water!

That's Magic Hat #9 for those who like a scaled image

The 3/4" allows no deflection when the sump is full

Here are the rock racks in the almost full DT with one of my biggest fans viewing them, she calls the structure a jungle jim for reef fish! :triumphant:

Today I did some heavy lifting in terms of plumbing. I've built the complex sections of the drain. Now I need to connect them all with the striaght runs that will pass through three walls befor reaching my fuge, frag tank, skimmer and sump. I also laid out the return plumbing, but I did not get all those details resolved today.

I still have to put in the shelf to hold the fuge and another to hold the QT. Uhg! It seem like it'll never end! But, it is moving along. Now that I have the GH overflow drains installed to a gate valve, I can completely fill the DT.

Next big hurddle to look forward to? Venting!

Finally got a day to work on the system so I set up the support shelves to hold the skimmer and fuge. And I ran the drain line into the sump room.\

The skimmer in place

The calcium reactor, this area will also hold a GFO reactor and a Carbon reactor

The bullet proof sump is finally in place! I set up the internal return pump to the holding tank for now. The drain side from the DT is done. Still need to finish plumbing the Dart return plumbing and then the system will finally be connected!!!! :applouse:

I need to get this done so I can have the chiller in line for heat waves!!! :snowman:

After these moves and times in the holding tanks, your SPS still looks amazing. I can't wait to see it grow once it is settled down into your home system.

Been working crazy hours the past few weeks, but I did manage to complete the return line to the DT today so the sump and tank are now connected! :highly_amused:

It took a bit of deep thought to get the last line routed as it's a real busy area in terms of structure of the house and utilities. I had to pass through the utility space and a laundry room/bathroom into the garage and then to the sump closet. A couple more elbows then i would have prefered, but it"s done.

I still need to flush the new line and water test it. I also need a bit more SW to top everything off after the wet test. Then it's PUMP ON!!!

Here's the return to the display comming back in over the RODI

I still need to ssecure the final leg but that wont actually happen until I get the doors to the canopy done

Another swing at scaping

Still not final but it is in the right direction

If anything I'll change the right side a bit to make it lower

So, my SRO 3000 Ext cranked up and skimmed like crazy .... for a day. :(

Now it just stutters and stops! The impeller ia clean as it gets!

I thought these Bubble Blasters were bullet proof! That's why I went with the SRO! Any one have any experience with these pumps?

have had a ceramic shaft break in the middle and the impeller would just turn real slow or chatter. try to take the pump apart to see if that's the case sometimes the impeller is so far out of balance that the vibrations damage the shaft when this happened to me it was on a brand new pump

Thanks. I'll pull it apart. I pulled the needle wheel and impeller assembly but I did not rmove the shaft itself for fear of damaging it.

So it turns out the impeller shaft is broken. $80 for a new one!

I just hung one of the Orpheks I'll hang the other and take a pic, LOVE these lights!
