Hey bax how much acrylic is left over after slicing and dicing that other tank? I could use the scraps for a project.

Well... there's quite a bit, at the moment, but not for long! I have many plans for it. For one, I'am building racks to elevate the aqua scape. The DT will be BB with PHs sweeping the under side of glass and acrylic, that, along with the ocasional power sweep should virtually eliminate detritus. I have quite a few other plans as well.

So I hear that's really a beotch! But Darren seems to be dealing with it and I really hope it works out this time . Darren's tank is amazing!!!

LOL, thanks Bax. Actually there will be no extra acrylic from this tank, as I plan on shipping this tank back to the manufacturer with 100 LBS of dead rotting shrimp. LMAO!!!

Sad news!

My heniocus butterfly died today. He did not respond to feeding like normal yesterday. He's usually the most boisterous fish in the tank when it comes to food. The leader of the mob. I looked around yesterday and he was just hanging out in back of the rocks which was odd. I also noticed some of my zoas were gone. I'm thinking the nuclear greens he ate nuked him!:disgust:

Is that a possibility?

All other fish look just fine.

... And the problem is, besides the obvious that I've lost my favorite fish, the heni is wedged under the rocks below my coral rack. Removing him will require a tear down.

So, the question is do I let the brittle stars deal with him and ramp up skimming and WCs, or do I remove the corals and rack and break down the rock???

All of which will spark SPS & LR die off???

Wow, sorry for the loss. I would try to remove that fish from the tank. I would do it quick before the star takes it to a place where it can't be found again or harder to get too.

Yeah .... that's 50% of the rock and nearly every coral I need to remove ... Uhg!!! ... Not happening until tonight.

Anyone every had afish die form eating zoas?

I stopped by AO and picked up my salt order. Will had some great looking fish there, I really need to get my QT up so I can score some fish!

Speaking of fish, I was able to raise the coral rack, remove a couple of rocks and get a hold of the heniocus. So the carcas is out. Tomorrow I'll do some water change. I'm just too wiped frome work this week to do it today.

RIP Heniochus. I've had two. One for nearly three years and this one for over three. The first was 100% reef safe. This second developed a taste for zoas that I believe killed it. As much as they were center piece fish, and always one of my favorites, I don't know if I'll chance another as I've had great luck so far with this risky species. To have three good ones may be asking too much?

Since it was such a nice day I took the stand outside and painted the stand today. Now I can recrute one of my nephews to help me haul it around from the garage and get it up on the stand. Then I can water test the GH overflow, plum to the sump and water test that and the fun will begin!
