Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Issues/comments on new changes.

That's been an issue for a while now and I can't seem to get to the bottom of it.
Where can you view your membership card?

The issue is on the script that creates the cards but unfortunately I don't have access to that

Pretty sure that means your membership is not paid up.
I just signed up yesterday and I also get 1970.

Try your membership card again. If your membership is current it should now work. We also found an another issue with PayPal not updating memberships automatically we are still working on that one.
Mine is still saying 1970

We still have an issue to work out with PayPal payments not updating the website automatically. More to come.
