It has arrived.............. OMG, this is scary

I guess that all depends what you're going there for. ::) Our Home Depot beats our Lowe's tenfold. More selection, much better customer service, and better prices.

it just seems that whatever i am looking for at home depot they just happen to be sold out. espeically pvc plumbing items- complete waste of time! and that goes for the home depot in old bridge and woodbridge. i can honestly say the lowes in old bridge beats our local HD's tenfold. More selection, much better customer service (comparable prices).

awesome corals btw, gotta love AO!

Sure you can ask. Let's just say one was about twice as much as an ORA frag, and the other was only a little bit more than an ORA frag. ;)

PS. My tank's done. Transfer is finished. Too tired to post pictures. I need a glass of wine and sit and relax. :) I promise to post pictures tomorrow.

Congrats Wendy!! I am sure I speak for everyone when I say looking forward to the pictures. BTW Brocks out on RT34 has a whole bunch of pond liners I was able to find a 5X5 one, for anyone who is perhaps looking for one.

Wendy, LOVE the current tank, LOVE the new setup! It's great to see that you are enjoying the hobby and chuggin along and making great progress~ Kudos! and yes, please more pics after you are well rested!

JR, I'm glad you found the pond liner. I LOVE Brocks Farms. I've bought more plants from them than anywhere else. :)

Merv, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your post means the world to me, as I've idolized and drooled over your tanks since I started with this hobby. You've truly been an inspiration to me. Again, thank you so much. :)

There are still a few things we need to do, like set up the automatic top-off container (with Kalkwasser), hook up the timers, and get our room back in order.

Without any further delay, here are some pictures. The water is still a little cloudy, so please excuse the mess.

Some actinic shots:

WOW wendy as usual the tank looks beautiful ;D can i tell you how jealous i am could you come over and arrange my tank? LOL

Mike, thank you so much. We're really pleased with the outcome. So far so good - knock on wood. Hopefully all the previous kinks have been resolved.

Initially the majority of my SPS slimed up pretty badly when we transferred them over. I had one panic attack after the other, especially since I had made double sure the water parameters were the same in both tanks. But since most of my SPS were heavily encrusted on the rock, we had to take them out, pry them off, and then put them in the new tank. I guess all that sliming was from the air exposure. I can't begin to thank Alex, my hubby, enough. He did the prying, chiseling, cutting - ever so patiently, while I was relentlessly hovering over him, hollering and yelling and crying at times. ::) I honestly don't know how he put up with me the entire day.

We did replace the return pump and it immediately fixed the temperature issue. The PanWorld is nice and quiet, and I'm running it pretty much wide open. The temperature hasn't exceeded 81 degrees (yet), and we all know what the weather's been like for the past couple of days. Our AC was set at 77.

absolutely beautiful Wendy. That will be some display as the corals fill out. You are setting the bar high for everyone else :D

Great Job Wendy it looks awesome, I bet it feels good to have room in the tank again and to be done with the transfer, now sit back have a glass a wine and enjoy ;D

Bob, you made me blush. :-[ Thank you so much.

Tom, yes, it feels terrific to have that much room again. Actually all my corals look small in the 180, even those that I considered to be fairly nice sized colonies already, lol. Too early for wine right now, perhaps later, when we're done disassembling and cleaning the 75. ;) Remember, I'm picking you up this week....

Wendy!

The tank looks awesome!

Glad the Pan World seems to be the ticket for you, It's a good pump, very quiet. Maybe mine just runs a little hot.

Excellent work!

Thank you very much, Steve, Greg, and Bax. :)

Steve, now all I need are some of your AWESOME corals. Please let me know when you have some frags available, will you, please?

Greg, can't wait for you to see it personally.

Bax, thanks again for all your wise words. We were actually considering ordering the pump you had recommended, but then decided to wait and see what the PanWorld would do for us. So far so good.

Now here's a kicker for you all. The new tank has the Ranco temperature controller, so I believe the temperature reading of 81 today to have been right on the money. When we were cleaning out the 75, I plopped my digital thermometer in the water, and took a reading 5 minutes later. 78 degrees! And there it stayed pretty much all day, while the Ranco steadily read 81. Well, I was relying on that digital thermometer alone while I was running the 75, and never thought much of it when the temp would go up to 81. Wow, so I guess the actual temp of the water in my 75 was closer to 84 degrees, huh? ::)

Looks great, Wendy.

As for the Ranco controller, how do you know that is accurate? It could be the one that is off and your digital is correct. You will need to find something of a known temperature and check both against that. I personally find the glass floating thermometers to be the most accurate so you may want to pick one up and see what that reads.
