Any opinions on Red Sea Reef Foundation Pro Multi Test kit (Ca,Alk,Mg), BRS has a sale today for 29.99

And since it will be a few months before I go operational, should I wait, so the reagents don't go bad?

Thanks!

Anyone? BRS has this kit on sale tommorow for 29.99...

If it's a few months before you are online, then yes I would wait. I like Red Sea cause you can buy the specific reagent and not have to buy a whole new kit.

Looking for opinions on general use pumps for circulation water in brute cans, circulating water to cook rock, moving new salt water to sump etc.

Is there a gold standard type pump you guys use?

Thanks!

I use 2 small powerheads I had laying around. I only make up 4-8 gallons a time at this point so it works well. When my new tank is set up and I'm making more water I'll probably use a mag 3 I have laying around to mix in my small brute.

Thanks for the opinion guys, I found an old fountain pump that I will clean up. Will still need something like a mag down the road.

Seems like mag is a decent pump for this kind of work.

This week on the build:

Orders two food grade 32 gallon Bute cans and lids.
Bought TSP and cleaned basement floor to prep for gray epoxy paint.
Bought a used mag 7 and two green Jager heaters from a guy in Jackson selling tons of stuff. Soaking them in vinegar baths.
Hope to meet with Rob (Hockeynut) this weekend and go over supplies for aquarium stand build.
Ordered GFI outlet for display tank wall.

Basement sump room floor prep and paint...
Hockeynut stopped by yesterday to go over game plan and picked up frame for display tank stand...

Mark, can you tell me what you used to drill the pocket holes? I have been looking at different kits but not sure which one to buy.

Hey Steve, if Rob had anything to do with it then he would of used a Kreg Jig. :)

See Rob! I learned something during the time you helped me make my awesome stand! haha
