Cool, glad you ended up with Albert. Blennies always have a fun personality so I think you will enjoy having him as your first inhabitant.

Ive been having a ton of problems leveling the tank! We are going to home depot to get some plywood, but my problem is that it keeps sinking into the rug!
Hahaha ive only picked out two so far: bengaii cardinals and a hopefully a horned blenny at aquarium center. All the fish i want i cant get! Theyre mean fishies. I really really fell in love with mandarin/dragonets but i cant remember why im not allowed to have them either. Kyle got me a starfish but I have to wait alot longer before I can have him in my tank.
The reason most people don't recommend getting a Mandarin in a smaller tank is because their main source of food are pods. In a smaller tank, the pod population will quickly be decimated. Now, there are ways around this. The chamber in the back has three areas, the inlet (good for a heater and/or protein skimmer), the middle chamber where most people put the bioballs/filter pad, and the return area (Where the pump is). Now, in the middle section, I'd recommend removing all of the media and replacing it with live rock rubble. Once you do this, take a sponge and soak it in a tank that is seething with cop/amph pods for a week or so. Then put it in the middle of the LR rubble in there. This will give them a safe place to continue to repopulate your tank. However, even by doing this, your Mandarin may still not have sufficient food. This, leaves you one other option! Find someone with a Frozen/Pellet trained Mandarin . I have great success converting them to prepared foods, and, if you would like, I can pick up one and start working on training it for you. Once it's trained on them, I can drop it off to you and show you it eats, and then you can reimburse me for it. Let me know
Really ?!? There was the cutest mandarin I saw with green spots and circles I am in love with their pattern but because It was so expensive to feed I didnt even look into it anymore. Ill definitely shoot you a pm! I start classes today but that isnt gonna deter me from my tank. Where are you located ?
On another note, does anyone have any suggestions on quieting my tank? The back chamber is lower than it should be ( kyle thinks the guy on CL broke it ) so we need something to prop up. We have a couple ideas lined up already but wanted to see if anyone else had an idea.
You can also feed mandarins live or frozen blackworms and/or bloodworms. They will happily eat those as well.
What do you mean by "the back chamber is lower than it should be"? Do you mean the slotted area where the water enters the back chamber? If so, they make/sell an attachment that will raise this:

That one is designed for a JBJ Nanocube, but check the dimensions in that link and see if that would cover the entire slotted area on your biocube. If so, you can buy this to fix that problem.
So proud of your tank so far! Just wanna make it publicly known that this is not another tank for me at her house lol she does everything herself and has learned so much in a short time. Bravo jing

Hmm, sounds like maybe the water level in the display is a bit too high then? Take a few cup fulls out and see if that fixes the issue. Hopefully, that "happy" level won't be below the black trim on the tank.Hard to explain george but she means the top of th3 back wall that seperates the tank and the filtering chambers is low and the water falls over it into all 3 chambers instead of only entering throught the grates. Maybe you should take a pic jing

Update 9/4:
Dun dun dun ! Today I recceives my first frag pack! I helped Kyle acclimate them into his tank as I still dont have my lights yet. Not only that, but I did my first water test !
Not only that, but Albert finally came out from the back and is now nestled in one of the front rocks.
Once I get my lights ill be taking lots of pictures of my zoas and fishies and stuff, but might make it into a collage to spare for room.
Thanks for all the help everyone !
Means that the intake into the first chamber, far rght when looking at the tank, is blocked partially. If there is sponge in there it needs to be cleaned, or something might have fallen to create the blockage. But its the same principle as a tank and sump, back chamber is the 'sump' and the display tank, front is getting too much water, which lowers the water in the sump because it isn't being returned as fast as its being pumped out.
Could also mean that the previous owner might have upgraded the pump and not done any modifications to the overflow area. One thing we did with our bc29 was cut the tab dividing the first (far right) and second chamber so that it is opem all the way across. If you look at it stock, the opening is only half way. By cutting that out you alleviate pressure built up in the first chamber and allow the water to flow more freely.
