Having seen that skimmer in person I can confirm it is a BEAST!

This is kind of the idea I'm shooting for the cross piece will be cherry to match the stand between the black steel. I think the wood against steel is a good look. The design of the wood is still up in the air

Wow Rob, you never cease to amaze me! Not only can you drive nails and cut some cellulose, you can lay down some steel as well. Now is that acetylene or arc? Either way, I'm impressed!

So it's a definite for this weekend. So far Edwin is heading over and Tony scoots for a while and maybe Mark. Anyone else have some time to help get the tank in the house and on the stand? I will provide refreshments (beer) ha. And my wife is cooking a pork shoulder (a little roasted pig bribery)
I'm really excited and also very nervous.
Also I could use a couple pumps to move water around anyone have a mag laying around I can borrow for the weekend?

Thanks guys I know it's a tough weekend it just worked out that way. Thanks Pete if we are still at it I'll gladly take a hand. Even if we are done you are welcome to take a ride over. I'm sure I'll be doing something.
Well I was at it again tonight like a madd dog. I cut and installed new baffles for the sump the old layout wouldn't fit the new skimmer so I claimed Edwin's sump cut out the baffles and fit new ones when he is ready I will re due my sump to fit his needs, thanks man
I also put a coat or two of black paint on the side of the tank the overflow is on

Well the day is finally here. It's 7:05 am and while I drink my first cup of coffee I'm contemplating the day's events. I have to say that I'm feeling more nervous than excited over the whole thing.
I have spent a long time growing some of these corals and fish and I know enough to figure on some of them not making it through the switch.
I don't know how some of you guys do it, I see some people constantly switching tanks. Maybe that whole process is what turns them on. Some people like to play with gear and try new designs I guess.
I like to watch coral and fish grow happy and healthy.
Wish me luck, Rob
