Looks awesome man! That fixture looks great, nice and clean. Things look to be clearing up well.

That sand must be great, at 75% my gyre would make piles...looking good Rob!

Best I've ever used its more like rubble then sand but if you want high flow, and I do, you need something that will stay in place

Rob. That looks great I love the more open looks like this. The great thing is you have the space to go up if you want. Which sand did you use? Seafloor Special. I really like that stuff. Right now i have fiji pink but im contemplating getting a gyre and i know it will blow that stuff around all over the place because my mp40 already does.

Yes Tom that's it I really like it. I think I will go up on the left side 1 more layer. I have to be careful because the gyre is on that side and if I go to high I will be blasting anything I put on the rock.

All is not well in hockey camp this week :(
I guess do to the move and maybe all the new components my corals are not fairing to well. At first I thought I might just loose one a joe the coral colony that bleached and receded the first day but it has gotten much worse. To date I have lost 5 colonies not frags some were smaller but still nice sized.
I am having a hard time getting my alk under control at first it was 8.5 then shot down to 6.5 I added alk solution based on brs calculator not even the full amount and very slowly over a day and a half all looked better it moved up to 7.5 and seemed ok then I tested on Monday and it shot up to 9.5 and that was it RTN central.
Now since Monday days it has not moved from 9.5. I am not dosing anything cal is pretty steady at 450 have not tested mag will do that tonight.

A little update, things aren't much better alk is down to 7.7 and not moving around to much but I'm still loosing sps.. Fish are great lps look good but sps not so much.
On another note skimmer seems to be kicking butt.
Herbie seems to be running really good I have to estimate but I am running a jeabo DC 9000 at about 80% which puts my return at about 1840 gph, nice flow.
I think I'm going to swap out the phoenix 14k bulbs for 20 k Radiums I think after having Leds for so long you get used to a certain look and the phoenix are a little white for me.
I ordered my planted aquarium regulator this week so I'll be setting up my calcium reactor soon.
I know things are a little tough right now but I'm sure I will turn it around. Hopefully sooner than later :)

Glad to hear things are settling down a bit for you. Did you figure out the issue you were having with the drain being a little loud sometimes?

Yea it only happens when the gyre goes into pulse mode so I'm working on the water level in the outside overflow box now to tweak it it's better. As I said at the party when I talk about the flow being a little loud it is still quieter then the derso ever was and I had that pretty quiet. Considering the flow I have right now it is amazingly quiet
