The 210 tank build

Doing well thank you for Getting us a piece back after we lost our mother colony.
So we did a LOT of tank maintenance this weekend.
Mike cleaned the recirc tank, replaced the carbon in the carbon reactor, and he cleaned his mixing container.
I worked on cleaning some of the frags in the basement, and then we ripped apart the rock work in the display so that we could remove every (and I do mean every) piece of rock with bubble algae.
Hours later, step two of the bubble algae eradication was complete. Two suprises: (1) nasty crab removed, and (2) one pink birdsnest frag found at the bottom of the tank, in the back, growing. Relocated and glued to a pice of rock!
Right now, the rock in the tank is stacked into one giant pile in the back; I'll be buying some more epoxy and creating a new rock work next week. Between now and then, go ahead and bug Mike for some photos of the fish- they were out and happy despite the new aquascape as of this AM.

So far the battle against the bubble algae is going well. The majority of the rocks I cleaned are remaining clean, with just a few small pockets of bubble algae remaining. My next step will be to re-aquascape the tank, which will happen in late february to early march.
Fish update.
Due to the changes in the aquascape, my little high fin gobies have moved into the back of the tank behind a giant rock pile. Grumble.
One of our original assessor basslets managed to injure itself pretty severely, he looks like he had a run in with the urchin and came out second best, but the little guy appears to be healing (thankfully) as my chances of getting him out of the 205 are nonexistent. The group of gold assessor basslets are mostly in adult colors now, bright yellow with a pink and green margin on fins. The randalli are still small, but are growing and coloring up really nicely.
One of my two ORA hula fish disappeared, which stinks. I have no idea what happened to it. The remaining hula fish is growing well. He is a funny little guy, he likes to swim with the four ORA cleaner gobies
The Cooperi anthias we added last month are all doing well, the Cooperi male and the Hawaiianisis male are chasing each other a bit, I think they are still establishing the pecking order in the tank. The cooperi male is larger now than the Hawaiianisis are, but that may very well change as the Hawaiianisis grow.
I've been tracking fish purchase dates for years, and I've decided to start tracking them in this thread as "birthdays", so here are January and February.
We just hit the one year on the pair of helfrichi firefish from Live Aquaria, and one year on the borb we bought from ELOS.
Our Bangaii cardinal from Trop turned three in January.
My serpant star turns 5 this month.

I drank 1/2 of a bottle of nice wine, and cursed under my breath while my sister in law extracted the spine from my finger.
Mike drank the other half in an effort to console me.
Then we said thank you to nice sister in law for coming over at 9 pm on a sunday to extract the spine and deal with my whining.

Glad your ok. Sometimes we forget how dangerous our tanks can be. Nice to see that took care of the pain with a little carbon dosing.
