Yea, the AquaStik stuff is safe to use and should not cause a cycle. I would suggest you do try to epoxy at least the bigger stuff to something bigger below it if possible. I would say to also try to stabilize any of the smaller pieces that you can move easily (say with the push of a finger) because the smaller stuff is usually the easiest stuff for turbos to push around. Believe me, when they want to get to a certain spot, they will push almost anything out of their way unless it's secured.

agreed! you'd be surprised where turbos end up. I had a couple in my frag tank and those things would end up in the sump somehow. snails in general can travel if they really want to. no fear in those little creatures. haha

Hi, I'm Angela (newreeflady from RC). I was invited to join by dppitone (Dave) and am happy to be here on what seems to be a thriving local forum! I've accepted a position in NJ, though we are moving to downtown Philly. Pretty excited after what has been a long run with university life. Presently hoping to start up a new system, just figuring out logistics. So, it will be just my cowfish in holding until we get it started (soon I hope!).

Hello there, I'm new to the world of reef aquariums and I want to know what size of tank should I start with. I have heard that it is a good idea to try something like 25 gallons but I've heard that a tank that small is difficult to keep clean and almost more difficult to manage. Please guide me.

Welcome!! While it is true that a bigger tank can withstand fluctuations in parameters, it may not be for everyone. This is due to time, budget and space restrictions. 25 gallons is a good size. I started with a 34 gallon and upgraded after a year. Learn good habits and good husbandry first with the small tank. Research your intended purchases and be patient with the hobby!!

Welcome ! I am pretty new too ! I take care of a29g biocube and I don't find the upkeep too much. I just do weekly water changes and clean out the floss every couple days to keep it clean.
