Ok. Now I'm sold. I'm running 2 ai hydras over me cube and I've been thinking of adding a couple of tubes myself for a while. Do you think I should add 2 or 4 tubes. It's a 30x30 cube.

i would do 4 tubes. T5|Hydra|T5|T5|Hydra|T5 in that order.

I have in order the following; a t5 and 2 it2040 and 2 t5 and 2 it2040 and t5. The t5 are 24 inch 25 watts. If i really wanted a punch I would have redesigned my canopy and run 3 t5 at 48 inches long. Overall it adds this background lighting that does get rid of shadows and I can see the shrooms at the bottom edges are more open from the lights. As for growth, time will tell as will any variation to the coral colors.

Last time I saw the tank it was a "frag" tank. Now it's a mini colony tank! Everything seems to be growing in nicely. Really makes me miss my 120.

How's the house remodel going? Last I saw you had plans, when do or did they start? We are in the same boat but will evaluate bids to reconfigure vs move.

Pete let me see your plans so you can get a un skewed idea of cost. I think Brian is past that point already if not Brian let me take a look.
Some times it's tough, a architect will say you can get something for this much and the reality is you really can't .
Last thing you want to do is get deep into a project and run out of cash.
