The zoos look like a lighter Miami vice style of zoos. Carribean in origin if they are the ones I am thinking. However not every Zola has a name.

Beautiful and healthy tank Pete, great job!!! As for your bryopsis issue, if it is indeed bryopsis, I would try to manually remove as it will eventually spread to your rocks and become a major nuisance. Would be best to identify first and make sure it is that.

i have a similar issue inside my overflows. I get all sorts of different algeas growing in there. I attribute the algea growth to the overflow not being covered. the amount of light that enteres the overflow it acts as an algea scrubber. i get a tubular type of algea also wich is really thick and carpet like. it pops when i scrape it off. I scrape it off once a week. I was going to build covers but, since i can harvest i. i figured im removing phosphates and nutrients. as long as its not in the DT right :)

That's my thinking, to just keep removing it. I think it grows so well because of the lights partially over the return overflow. No signs of it anywhere else, so I will just keep harvesting it and remove phos, nitrates with it.

Well, tomorrow shall be interesting. We leave with the family and in-laws for Disney and I have the neighbor in charge of the tank. I have my 2 part dose down pat at 40 ml of each daily. Seems like a lot but the sps are growing well and I'm sure consuming it as I see no precipitation. I have it all explained with post-is in all that cold be. Will take a picture before to see of I come back to a grave yard. My sock filter will overflow in 4 days, no big deal. Dis a 20% water change 2 days ago. Skimmer is turned down low so, with minimal feeding I can get 7 days before maxing. I have feeding to a minimal so no crazy build up of nutrients. Sigh, as I said, the next 6 days should be interesting.

Cheers to Princess breakfast,
Pete

Sounds like you got everything planned perfectly. Enjoy the vacation, and breakfast with the Disney princesses.

Thanks John, I hope so. Some of the best plans on paper fail in the field. Worst case scenario, I get to start an upgrade tale of the tank thread earlier. Sorry for all the typos....baby strapped to the chest makes it hard to type on the pad.

enjoy the vacation!

I'm also going on vacation this fall for 2 weeks, it makes me not want to set up the new build till then so my friend will only have to worry about taking care of the frag tank. lol

Thanks! Disney is quite the well run ship, I remember my last visit 33 years ago. Immaculate grounds, attention to detail and staff that can move several hundred people in a matter of minutes. A lot of business models could benefit from them cause the repeat customer load is quite high.
On a positive note, My daughter met Ariel today...... I now need a beer!

Got back today, 55 mixed tank looks great! Sps have in my mind grown a bit in the week I was gone. Daughters 12 gal nano is fine a little hair algae but no big deal. Downstairs the 29 gal frag tank is ok but looks like some of the chalice frags got a little hurt. Will plan on some water change tonight. I am amazed that since I got the mag, alk, cal stable my sps are really growing nice. Blue digi hit the back glass this week and is now encrusting on it. Well nice to be back and we will start the plan for the upgrade this summer...90-120gal, the structural engineer will say.

Glad to hear everything made it good. I love it when I don't see the tank for a few days. You finally get to see how things grow as opposed to seeing every day. Soon you just might have a lot more stuff to add.

So I am thinking of upgrading. Limit is a 120, looking for a single corner overflow....ideas for makers anyone?

I'd say the Deep Blue tanks are nice. Brian's tank looks great and he has the 120 from them. I could be mistaken and he has a 180. lol either way nice tank. haha

Drill it. I think perfecto makes a tank that is not tempered. Maybe Bax can chime in. I think he went that way.

It's a 120. ;)

For a single corner overflow, Perfecto is going to be you tank of choice since the Deep Blue's have dual corners.

Thanks, I like the corner over flow instead of drilling due to space constraints. If I drill it I need space away from the tank, either in the back or off the side which will not work. I only want one corner because viewing is the front and one side of the tank. I was going 90 but everyone has said to go 120. I'm liking the extra 6 inches in depth to allow me to clean glass and not frag corals at the same time. Lol
