Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Nothing sadly. Mine both sleep behind the return plumbing, I really wish they would find my rainbow BTA but I’d settle for the hammer or gold torch too.

The white things? Pineapple sponges; harmless filter feeders. Nothing but a sign your tank is maturing, you may have a bloom of them but they will die down on their own.

If you don’t find anyone after a few weeks I would love him! Upgrading to a bigger tank and I wanted to dedicate my old tank to an eel but won’t be getting the new tank right away so I can’t take him now. Just let me know if after Christmas nobody has taken it and the tank should be running by...
I would post a pic of some of my gonis for comparison but lights are off for the night. I will be sure to post in the morning though

My guess is favia, but a lot of the closed brain corals look similar. Favia, favites, goniastrea etc are pretty hard to differentiate when tiny, at least for me.

Lately I have been trying to feed my fish a big variety of foods since I figure a big variety is healthiest for them. Today I fed a little mix of scallops, shrimp, and other stuff that I prepared and they went crazy for it, holding onto pieces bigger than their heads and swimming around trying...
Following along lol! Going to be setting up a new tank soon and Black Friday will be the perfect time to get shopping

I wouldn’t suggest a Wrasse or longnose hawk unless you have a lid, mine jumped and I hear a lot of other people say the same. My longnose hawk was one of my favorite fish until he jumped, but keep in mind they will try and eat shrimp, especially small ones.
My banggai cardinal is a nice, slow...
That will fit in my dads truck. Let me know if Chris passes, I’ve wanted to have a big fish tank forever so this would be awesome for me

They said I can have it (as long as person above doesn’t take it). What are the dimensions? Have to fit it in the car lol

Possibly can take, been looking for a bigger tank for a long time but haven’t been able to buy one. Let me make sure my parents say it’s okay lol :)

Yeah, a lot of people go by that but now we have things like MarinePure for surface area so the need for rock is less. A lot of people are actually going for minimalist designs and the scape comes out beautiful once their corals start to grow in.

My tank is 36x12x18 (weird dimensions, I know lol) and I used about 45 pounds of base/dry rock and 8 lbs of live rock that I carefully inspected to make sure it was free of pests like aiptasia. The live rocks purpose in my tank was to help it mature faster, and I think it did a good job. It’s...
Welcome! I hate bubble algae as well, but been fortunate to not deal with Dinos. Same goes for aiptasia *knock on wood*

Looks like a bleached carpet anemone. After it settles in try and feed it things like mysis shrimp soaked in vitamin supplements. Bleaching is when a coral or anemone expels the algae living inside it. Without that, it will slowly starve to death unless you feed it. Over the next few months it...
Healthy anemone signs depends on the species. But in general, they shouldn’t have a gaping mouth or be white. Their tentacles should be extended and after a few days of acclimation they should readily accept most meaty foods. Make sure your powerheads are covered so they can’t accidentally get...
My blues turn on at 7:30 which is well after I am at school, whites and other colors come on at 8:15. Whites go off at 6:30 and then blues run until 7:30. My refugium light stays on 24/7. I try and keep the schedule more at a natural schedule than at where I can enjoy it.
