Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Not to mention they censored things like "lesbian" and such. The post was named something like "any LGBT reefers out there" and it was removed along with other people who commented or said anything. I know you guys are saying it has nothing to do with reefing. But it has as much to do with...
The post that started it was a post asking if there were other lgbtq reefers out there and where they were from. Nothing negative. The person who runs it is a hardcore christian so he took it down. But allowed other posts about things like that. And then delete a bunch of accounts along with...
I quit R2R because of this. That and the fact that they blocked Humblefish and deleted hundreds of posts with insane amounts of helpful information from him. The guy who runs R2R is a nutjob and i hope the community can move on to a better page
Thanks Dave for the frags and going through them with me. (and thanks for including the wife and letting her pick instead of ignoring her. She appreciated it and let me spend more than normal because she said you were really nice lol)
Like you said, filter floss. I buy mine from Walmart. It usually goes from $5-$10 for this big roll and the last time I bought one was 2 years ago when I had 3 fw tanks. I just had to get a new bag like a week ago.
Honestly, that's why I went with dry rock. So many hitchhikers. And that's just what you've found so far. Makes you wonder what else you got hiding in there.
Exactly what Amado said. I just let it slowly go down over the course of a few weeks. Some people seem to think white vinegar can lower alk, but it also messes with your ph. It's not proven either so idk how much truth that holds.
I still us IO regular salt. Even with it's dog at 11, with the...
I did the same. My salt kept it at 11-12 but everywhere I got frags from was around 8dkh. So I decided to lower mine to stay at 8.2 so it's easier on the corals
What @DangerDave said is 100% accurate. For example, i gotta dose 7.8 ml daily to keep my alk at 8.2. Which is not a lot but if I wait for water changes, it drops dangerously low. Once I got my levels consistent, everything started looking 100x better
Water change should bring the alk levels up. If the level drops a noticeable amount on a daily basis, then i recommend dosing.
(Can't hurt either way but sometimes the drop is so small that it's not worth going through the trouble of dosing because WC will do the work)
