Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
The treatment itself isn't increasing the cyano, the fact the the skimmer and gfo are offline is. Day two here, bryopsis seems to be turning white on the ends and losing strength.
It's still an anemone, they'll eat the same thing any other nem would. Wait for a second opinion from someone else on here before taking a positive Id, I'm not 100% as I haven't dealt with them much.
I stopped mine as well because it was agitating most of my lps, sps not so much. didn't seem to do anything for my tank, if anything it may even look worse.
Once everything gets settled in, i'm going to try and get it back online, my favorite part about that system is besides feeding the tank, i only had once a month maintenance where i would refill my ato and water change can. No worrying about pulling out pumps to change water and so forth.
I had my apex dos doing it for me for a while, it actually worked great, but due to some issues with bryopsis and some other things, along with the demand for alk and calc went up higher than i though it would be, so i switched my dos to meter in my kalk for now until i get the tank sorted out...
Bayer dips, and there's a dog med that you can put into the tank directly for them, I've used it before for black bugs, used to be interceptor, I used sentinel as it was available, I think interceptor may come back on the market though.
I figured i'd document my experience with it here, i just ordered some of these based off a post on reef central, that two people tried it out, one took photos of it, and it decimated the bryopsis in the tank. I'll take some photos probably every other day or so and will add nothing else to the...
I have a rock with over 100 heads and I'll probably wind up yanking them off the rock or you can just take the rock, they have a purple center with bright green skirts. If you want the rock with it I'd suggest an h2o2 bath or pulling them off yourself when you get home and bleaching the rock to...
Just think of it as a new project, and make it fun, the more toys I get the more I try and change things up to keep it interesting and keep my life easy. Right now I'm probably going to make a 40g Kalk container that should last me a few months instead of the gallon bottles that last me two days.
