Selling my Deep Blue 120 tank. There are a few scratches on the front glass so it is not display worthy but it would be good for a large fish QT tank. Back glass is painted black - $120
Also selling my Reef Octopus XS-160 skimmer.
2 years old, rated for tank sizes 100 to 150 gallons. Has a...
Things are looking good in the 40B. Acans are still recovering and are getting nice and fat again. Some acros I got from Feng's are encrusting on their frag mounts.
Picked this little guy up at AO yesterday along with two MP-40's for the new tank.

This is an easy question to answer, NONE, run bare bottom! Hahaha ;) . The flow you can achieve with BB will keep corals happy, and you do not have to maintain the sandbed. So it's a double win!

As awesome as the 200DD sounds. I was at my LFS on sunday studying their 300DD and 3ft deep is a LOT of tank. I can barely reach the back/bottom of my 120. I'm thinking it would stick out a little too far in the room and mess up the Feng Shui.

+1 on the cheato, I'm also looking for some and any other macro algae for a fuge.

I've done this before. I'll wake up BEFORE something happens. Not just with power outages. Last one happened a few months ago. Woke up, 5 seconds later, heard a boom and then power went out. Not sure if a transformer blew or a car hit a pole.

I'd give the 175's a shot and see what they do. It wouldn't cost you anything since you already have the fixture. Otherwise, +1 to 2x 250's.

I like the overflow in the middle or close to center. With corner overflows, if you don't have the flow just right, you wind up with surface film at the opposite end of the tank.

Turn your display lights on.
I have a theory that I will investigate when I go back to school for Marine Biology (some day). But I believe the nitrification bacteria require light to process the ammonia into nitrites.
I put some rock in bucket with a powerhead and the ammonia went up, and...
If everything turned white that means there was too much light, too fast.
LEDs are strong, but do not appear as "bright" as T-5's or MH's, but the PAR is there, even at our perceived lower brightness. LEDs especially with lenses are like little laser beams. You have to start them low, like...
