I see them as a beneficial addition. I understand you may feel they are excessive, but if the tank could not sustain the quantity, they wouldn't survive.

Really nice stuff and you are right in town to boot. Need to shape up my tank a bit before I buy, but will definitely be a future customer.

Not a war story but may be helpful. I would have spilled more water than you did for the same reason...forgetting to turn off RO/DI. However I put my RO/DI container next to my sump and installed an outlet with tubing at the top of container feeding into the sump. So if I forget to turn off...

I have added "live" sand before. Primarily used live because it was on sale and cheaper than the dry. The key pieces I would re-iterate. Do not add all sand at once. I added over a 10 day period. When I added my sand I used a cake icing bag and cut a larger hole at the bottom. This...

It has been a while since I have been on, but I still have the cube. Had a series of issues including red bugs which wiped my SPS and then the tank had some additional challenges. I am basically back to mostly softies zoos one hardy SPS and one LPS. Planning to start the re- build process
