Move was a bit challenging.. we reached staten island at around 9:45 am... Then ran into our first hurdle... as we were trying to pump the water directly into the stock tank, which was in the cargo van, from the DT. After 2 trips to Lowes.. we got the right connectors to hook up the pump to a...
I'm going with an existing setup that is under the tank, but I want to switch it to basement. Currently there is a mag 9 pump on there and a huge SWC skimmer. The baffles have been setup in the SUMP, but the guy ran it empty.. no rocks or sand in the sump.
I have orderd new Bulk Heads slip x slip. So that should work out. Definitely will check out the place on Chimney Rock Rd.. that is like 10 min. from my house. :)
The holes on the tank are standard holes that come on a 120 Deep Blue. I believe 1" bulk heads for outgoing and 3/4" bulkheads for incoming. It will be a 40 G breeder as sump/refugium.
Does anyone have any pics of their 120 Deep Blue hard plumbed? I'm going to be plumbing it to my basement and just wanted to get some ideas as to what kind of connectors and elbows I should use.
Doing a another move this Saturday... 120 Gal from Staten Island to Somerset. The 150 Gal stock tank is a life saver. :) Thank you Mike!!
And then on Sunday... helping someone move my current 75 Gallon to PA. Someone bought my whole setup.
Who knows... maybe after this weekend I'll be a...
Okay yesterday was a busy day... moves my 75 gallon from one corner to other side... thanks to Mike's 150 gal stock tank... if was a time saver. Attached are a few pics of the transition... next week is the move of the 120 gallon.
All I gotta say about Edwin's tank is " ". That's it! I was speechless. Saw the tank today and it is just amazing. His wife is a total sweet heart for letting him do all that. I had to bag and plea to upgrade my tank. Plumbing work is phenomenal.
Great job Edwin. Please keep the pics...
That is an amazing looking setup George. Unfortunately, I can't weld. :( Otherwise, this is a good option too. I was planning on splicing the wires if they don't fit through the holes. I did reach out to HockeyNut for a stand and canopy. Just waiting on the loan to be sanctioned.. lol
Does anyone have a pipe bending tool? HD wanted $35 for a tool. :( I got the conduits.. I went with two 10' by 1/2". The 3/4" was too thick for my taste.
Opinions???
I have white wall in the background.. should I spray paint the conduit white or black? The tank has a black background, the stand is black, the lights are black. I'm hoping the white conduit would blend in the background and the lights will look like they are floating in air.. lol
