why are my corals slowly withering away ?

yea I thinking along those lines. Probably hold off on the dosing. I don't have a lot in the DT at risk currently. Just want to see some better results before I load up. 5G once a week

why are my corals slowly withering away ?

I guess I was a little piecemeal with the info; its 40G DT running for 6 months with a basement sump that also ports in and out of a 10G frag tank. TWV is ~65G. Skimmer, filter sock, fuge, carbon reactor and small UV. Used all reefrock, and some marinepure No3 and PO4 have been at 0 since the...

why are my corals slowly withering away ?

Yes using water. I’m dosing to keep 1350Mg 450Ca and 9-10KH. The softies have done fine, healthy with some growth. GSP, Xenia, pompoms, gorgonian. The stuff like galaxia trumpet and Duncan started well and faded over a few months. I do have one favia that is up high that is so far no worse for...

why are my corals slowly withering away ?

Just the usual suspects; couple clowns, pj cardinal, firefish, watcher&pistol and a cleaner shrimp and emerald crab. The crab is a recent addition so he is not a suspect. I just switched test kits same result. I did just realize and fix a temp swing problem in the past couple weeks Sent from...

why are my corals slowly withering away ?

6mo old breeder tank with big sump and all the params in check. Think maybe its underfeeding or over filtering. I feed just frozen and stepped it up a lot recently but still no trace of NO3 PO4. Current setup drains straight into my skimmer outputs into a sock. Wonder if I should go without...

im using a 6055 on a breeder been pretty impressed with it..a little costy but looks like it will last and I needed true noiselessness. I have another one arriving today along with the wire to sync them up so will see how that works out. I couldn't see much reason to run them to the apex.

Aquascaping coral in my BC 32G

here's a vid with some tips if you haven't already come across it; I found the reefrock a challenge to drill with a standard cordless think i gave up on it, but brs does sell the dowels for that if you go that route.

Aquascaping coral in my BC 32G

If I had it to do again I'd give more attention to fusing the stacked rocks together with rods and construction epoxy. Every time I give the rocks a brush off I have to worry about the denizens within until I see them out in public again after.

thats true. its still discounted some on BRS, but the reviews on it there are very mixed. Looks like an excellent value for what it offers. I'm conflicted since I'm currently getting up on Apex, and theirs is more $ (of course) but looks sophisticated. Still mildly seething at Neptune so not...

    DTC Build - Jim

that would be cool to try down the road; but with only a few hrs a day of sun in that spot its probably a stretch. Plus i haven't decided yet how to watch out for high temp

relieved that after 10 or so days in the water some of these frags are finally starting to open and at least one is looking fully. Still the macros are outperforming they love the sunlight (phone doesn't focus well through the acrylic so pics are a bit hard to read) regarding the 2 online...

Pico set-ups: how to run a successful 1-5 gallons saltwater tank

thanks for all that; a lot to digest :) To your last point I am noticing today and past couple days that the few survivors are looking stronger and the others are showing signs.. so havent lost hope on them. I have a few mangroves in the water but was more for asthetics but I could certainly...

Pico set-ups: how to run a successful 1-5 gallons saltwater tank

interesting, i went a bit opposite in approach...changing a DD medium coffee cup amount of water daily. So far no algae issues to speak of; however the majority of zoa frags that I planted about a week ago haven't opened and look like they have no intention to.

    Neptune

For me the display module that came with the apex jr was doa. Didn't have any problem getting them to acknowledge that, however now it is now 18 days passed since i shipped it back (which they wanted me to pay shipping until I complained) and today just received notice that it was repaired and I...
