The shrimp Are adding phosphate as well. I would also add more shrimp. When your see only nitrates you will want to ghost feed. Sent from my LG-D800 using Tapatalk

Do you know where your nitrates are at? Without nitrates being present the pellets cannot remove anymore phosphates.

    Salt

I think you might see better results if you didn't mix the bags together. The components in the salt tend to settle and it is much easier to shake/mix the bag, compared to stirring the bucket every time before use.

The membrane should go three years easy if you take care of the prefilters Sent from my LG-D800 using Tapatalk

    TDS

The only problem with waiting is that you don't know if the carbon is almost exhausted. The carbon protects the membrane from chlorine which will kill it quickly. You can safely ignore the sediment block without damage, it will only lower the pressure. Sent from my LG-D800 using Tapatalk

It depends what the 4 tds is comprised of, and that you can't tell. But if it were me I wouldn't be to concerned. Also, you should not have to replace the membrane, just the prefilters and the di. Sent from my LG-D800 using Tapatalk

    Tunze 9002 Skimmer

These are great little skimmers, when I had one it produced dark skimmate. This is a great price, someone needs to jump on this! Sent from my LG-D800 using Tapatalk

    Standard Aqueon aquarium stand

I have had the standard black pine stand from AGA (Aqueon), for 6 years now and it has been wet on a regular basis. The stand still looks new, the only complaint I have is that they are short.

    Alk\Calc Ratio

Is there a predictable consumption rate of mag? I personally assume 1ppm a day after some research... hope you don't mind the hijack OP. Sent from my LG-D800 using Tapatalk

The gfo won't hurt the cycle, however I personally wouldn't run the skimmer while cycling. It could remove organics with the tank would use to cycle, which would slow the process down. Sent from my LG-D800 using Tapatalk
