Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Downbeach, welcome to the board! At the top of the page, in the middle of the header, you will see "Upcoming Meeting". Follow that link and at the bottom of the meeting info/bio page there is a RSVP link. You will find the club is like one big family, significant others, children and friends are...
Ohh man... The 50 has the same stupid brace that my 65 has? 40 = no brace. ;)
I had the same problem to consider with the 65 about casting a shadow. The T-5 fixture had no visible shadow and most 36" MH fixtures these days have a single bulb in the middle and I can only imagine it would block...
Bax,
I take 287 everyday to and from work, and I work up in Rockaway off Rt. 10. When you get back from vacation I could stop by the shop and pick up some barrels and bring them back down to central with me. I'm goin to the meeting and can also take them south if needed.
A few months ago when I was in there (when they were actually open) I was talking to the guy that owned the place and I asked him where all the corals were. They did a lot of online business and had some really nice highend LE corals and all the tanks were packed. From what he told me, he was...
Hit or miss hours. Last two times visiting my parents I stopped by around 6-7 o'clock and they were closed. :-\ Still had tanks inside with lights on from what I could see through the condensation on the windows. ???
I'll take a 30. And depending on the size of them, I might be able to fit a couple in my Explorer so if Jonathan/CJ want I can drop them off and finally check out their aquaculture facility. ;D Again depending on size, I can maybe also bring them to the meeting for any southern people.
Where abouts in Rockaway are you? I didn't know you were so close, I work on Franklin ave. and might have to stop by after work one day and check out what you got.
Sounds like you have a story similar to my 65 in the making. LoL Slow and steady!
I would get a 29 but with the AGA stands it would not leave me with much room between the top of the sump and the stand. The 20L would make it easier to work inside the sump. If you build your own stand, you could...
I have a 700 on the 65 and I'm going to order another 700 for my 40B. Get the 40B and the 700 kit and we can have a tank drilling party! ;D
I'm going this week to get my 20L sumps. $1/gallon rules! :D
To get the reds in the corals to pop like with the Fiji pink with a MH, you will need to supplement.
Like Steve said, 20k (very blue) is all show and slow grow. Options for MH bulbs are very limited and is why they are often supplemented with T-5's or LEDs. Ecoxotic now has a magenta stunner...
