I've noticed a couple of weird looking snails in my tank lately. Move to fast to get a pic. They have a small shell for the size of their bodies. The shell is flat and if you touch them they drop the shell. I usually find them under something. Any ideas? Bob

Steve Your skimming to wet. Turn the knob one way or the other until the water level in the skimmers drops. Then slowly turn the knob the other way until the water level rises to thre bottom of the thing that looks like a inverted cone. Let it run for a little while to see if it's producing a...

The first one the head definitely looks like a duncan but the stalk doesn't. Stalk is hard where the one in the pic looks soft.

I got rid of it by using a toothbrush and a siphon. Hold the siphon over the bubble and then scrape it off everything goes out the siphon. I have emerald crabs, don't bother they don't work (although they are pretty cool to watch). Problem is you can't get them out and when the algae runs out...

Renee Can you lower the water level and drill it from the inside out (don't know how practicle this is). You would have to catch the waste material and brace the back of the tank against the wall with something to take the pressure of the acrylic. Bob

Dave I don't know if the freshwater did it. I lost 2 of the 4 acros That I got that night. It may have been due to the diffs in temp when Feng moved them from the broken tank to the temporary one. Bob
