Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Good luck and shout if you have any questions.
One word of caution . . . . silicone in a well ventilated area and refrain from sticking your head in the tank too much while your doing it! Wow, that stuff kicks out some vapors!
The only thing that would need calcium is the montipora. If it's a frag, it's not going to need that much. You really should test your levels and monitor them for a while. See what kind of Ca you're starting with and then see how quickly it drops. Check to see where you are after water changes...
With a 10g nano and mostly softies, you should be able to maintain all of your levels through regular water changes. I don't know if I'd be too inclined to do a kalk drip in a 10g system.
JMO, but I'm sure there are others! You should do some searching around this site. There are a ton of...
It's not above my tank, it's above my sump in the basement. Here is a pic of the sump from a few months ago. You can kind of see the two fans. One over the lower rubbermaid tank, and the other over the upper rubbermaid tank.
Yeah, there's no way that monster would fit in my canopy!
It's kind of strange because PA has the 175W 14K's. Is it possible that Iwasaki really makes a 14K and a 15K? That's a pretty tight product line if so! Just curious more than anything. . . .
If they are the same, you can get the 14K for about $3 per bulb cheaper with free shipping, through our...
I don't think you ever recover from group buys. There's always another one behind it and one behind that and one behind that and one behi . . . .
Looks, great though. I actually thought it was going to be a closed loop with the pvc resting on top of the tank. That's a really cool idea. Are you...
I got my Open Water and Advanced Open Water certs through them. I also did a refresher course with them. They pretty much offer all of the courses you'd need to get to an instructor level if you want
Oh and they are a PADI facility.
Hey Sam, thanks for the invite and the hospitality. We had a great time today. Good food, good company and PLENTY of beer. What else could you want!
Thanks again.
It's hard to say for sure. I will say that it's been a no brainer for us. Our basement is generally cool, though so we have that working in our favor.
I'm not sure what kind of lights you're running or how they're set up but if you can tie them into the Jr, you could program it to turn the...
I'm going through a certification process for work right now so I spent a lot of time at the Villanova website. If I do get a few minutes I generally troll through Live Aquaria's Diver's Den and Collector's Corner.
Yes, yes and not that I know of!
Yes you can use X10's with the Jr. Yes you need that controller. I don't know of a better way.
Keep in mind, though, that X10's can't be used for lights with ballasts.
Hey Arvind, Welcome back! I was just saying that I haven't seen you around in a while.
We have 2 fans in the basement. One over the sump and the other over the stock tank. You can use those "clip-on" type desk fans, they work pretty well. What I've found works really well (but a bit more...
I'm sure this has been asked somewhere but I can't find the answer. Does anyone know if the Koralia's can be used with a Red Sea Wave Maker? If not, is there any other way to get them to pulse?
