Unfortunately, I'll be out of town this weekend. Are you free any nights during the week? I'm pretty much open all next week and would be up for either an early evening or a night dive.

It looks like Divers Two in Avon and Under the Sea in Neptune are the closest shops. Anyone know of any others? I'll give them a call tomorrow to see if they rent weights. I'm not sure they'd even have slurp guns, let alone rent them, but I'll check. Does everyone who's thinking of diving have...

Excellent, Rob. We look forward to seeing you there! I'm not sure about rentals in the area. I'm sure you can get a filled tank. Weights and a slurp gun may be a different story. I'll get the names of some local dive shops and give them a call to see what they have to offer.

I'm gonna be out of town next weekend so if you guys want to get together and pick a spot that would be great. Otherwise, maybe we can hook up one week night between now and the 13th.

    Jig for routing overflow

That's great. I like the idea and the results are fantastic. How did you attach the guide on the bottom? Did you route a channel and then glue that piece in? Very nice work.

    July Meeting - Saturday July 29th 12pm

Bwaaahhhhaaaaaa hhhhaaaaaa haaaaa . . . . Sorry, give me a minute to compose myself. Totally innocent, riiiiiiiiiigggghhhhhhhtttttt! And Bill, I liked your shirt. I had trouble hearing you over it, but it was still really cool.

Hi Greg, all good info. Thanks for volunteering the use of your boats, that's really cool. My only concern with doing a boat dive is it may limit the number of people who want to participate. A number of people have said that they'd like to come and be part of the action as either divers, ground...

Cool Greg. Right now we're looking at the 13th of August. I'm pretty flexible about the time and location (not too early, though!) You guys work out the location and I'll be there - retro gear and all!

    July Meeting - Saturday July 29th 12pm

Yep, It was another really good meeting. Dan, thanks to you and your wifre for welcoming us into your home. Your tank looks great, especially in light of the fact that you're recovering from a recent crash. I completely forgot about that and never would have guessed it if you hadn't reminded me...

I'd be more inclined to do the back bay around 11:00am. I'm not really a morning guy to begin with, especially on a Sunday morning!

Hi Greg. I was hoping you'd respond to this thread. I was just saying to Phyl that you'd probably have some good insight since you've pulled stuff from there before. Any help you could give would be great.

I'm convinced! Wetsuit it is! So what's the vis usually like in this area?

I'm not sure on either question Mike. I guess it all depends on what time we're going to dive. I would imagine it'll only be a one tank dive but I'll leave that up to eholceker to answer. I just checked the tide chart for August 13. Here is what they have: Tides for Belmar, Atlantic Ocean -...

In the past, you had to own your own weights, mask, snorkel & fins. I think you can pretty much rent everything else. That may have changed recently but I'm not sure. It's been a while since I've rented.

What are the water temps these days? Do you think a wet suit is needed? It's not like we're going to be down very deep. Although, the protection against abrasions might be nice . . . .

It all depends. I don't exactly have the strongest constitution, so the conditions have to be pretty calm for me to want to do a boat dive. The advantage to them is you get to go to a lot of really cool and deep offshore wrecks. All you have to do is carry your gear from the car to the boat...

Actually, right now August 13th is the only day I'm free. If all of my tanks pass their Hydro and I can make it, you could use one of mine. I'd still need to rent a wet suit because I swear neoprene shrinks when not used for a few years. I can't believe that thing ever actually fit me! I have a...
