Without knowing or seeing the tank layout or type of clam, I can only give some general information. If it is a crocea or maxima it would probably do best up higher on the rockwork in a brighter area. If its a squamosa or derasa, it should do fine on the sand in the lower light areas.
I'm extremely happy with my LEDs, it's been around 11 months. I switched from MHs with VHO supplementation that I was using for around 9 years. I like the colors better with the LEDs, I was able to dial it in. The growth has been great, too. So, for the time being, I'm staying with my LEDs.
Thanks Tony & Terri, great time as always. It was interesting to see that your home made food had better ingredients than I eat, ha ha. All the tanks look great.
Looking to sell my two clams, angel has started to annoy them. I like the angel, so the clams are available.
Clam #1 is a 7" long (shell) Derasa clam (it's big), had for long time, believe it was an ORA. Looking for $100.
Clam #2 is an ORA Squamosa and around 2-1/2" - 3" long, had for 9...
Most of my fish have come from your local store, which I'm guessing you're referring to as the not so great anymore LFS. I've found they usually have descent quality livestock. Unless you're looking for the more rarer fish, they usually get in most other fish eventually. It's been a few...
Mine has only been up for 2 summers, I'm no expert. You do want at least a side that's 36" deep minimum. I had a submersible filter with a mag-drive 18 last summer. Was a pain to clean & it was green most of the summer. This year I turned a stock tank into a container bog & ditched the...
Just took a closer look at Acan #1, and the angel seems to have upset about 5 polyps in the back, so they're not fully open, the others are fully open. I'm having a hard time counting the polyps too, I count at least 30, not counting the upset ones.
New Price is $60 for Acan #1 (30+ polyps)
I've had both of these for several years now, started at 3-4 polyps. I like them, but my new angel likes them a little more. I've got them under plastic soda bottles with holes drilled in them (as you can see) to keep them safe. They are opening up nice, but I don't want to leave them like...
I'm running (2) Ocean Revive S026's over my 90 gal and can grow SPS even on the sand bed. Very happy with these fixtures and the price point was awesome.
They have two manual dimmers, so you can select your desired color, but can't be controlled to dim, just on/off at the selected level you...
I know what you guys are talking about. My favorite has always been LPS, like Torches, Hammers, Frogspawn, etc. I just love the way they look and flow in the current, even if they are common. But some times I just love the colors of some of the SPS. So, I have a mixed reef. Need my clams too.
That's crazy. It doesn't take much time to dip a coral. Most of the time is waiting, you can do plenty of other things while you're waiting.
I don't do too many water changes these days either, but not because of time. Over the years, I've done small weekly, larger monthly and almost none...
