I've got (2) Ocean Revive Arctic S026's on my 90 gallon (48" Long). They are dimmable, just no moonlights and if you didn't want to hang them you'd have to make something. But they are a beautiful fixture, very thin and width for even spread. I believe two are going for $350 on their website...
Since switching to LEDs in January I'm running around 77. It does dip down to just over 76 sometimes. Wonder if I should try bumping my heater a tad to get a little warmer, since everybody seems to like 78.
I change my sediment & carbon on a schedule (sediment - 6 months, carbon - 12 months) and my DI is replaced whenever I start getting a reading above 0. Depending on how much of the DI has changed color, I may replace just some of all of the resin.
You'll need to remove the clowns and go with no fish for 6 - 8 weeks. A least that's the process with ich. I believe velvet is the same. They might be immune but might still be carriers. I wouldn't chance it.
Hey Dan, love the new look. Looks so much cleaner than before and nice and straight.
I see the bracket runs right over the fans. If I remember correctly, there's pulling air in the fixture, so the flow would be coming out the other slots. Do the fixtures still feel like they're pulling a...
Not sure if you've got them or you'd like to get them. In either case, yellow is no problem. I'd imagine that the Yellow with one of the others would be fine, maybe two if smaller. The Naso, Achilles & White check are pretty active fish. There should be a good deal of room for swimming to...
Since then, I've had Royal Gramma's and had no issues with them. Maybe try them in a smaller tank and see how they are together or with other fish, so they're easier to get out.
I added one of them (Pseudochromis porphyreus) to my old 44 gallon years ago and it was the meanist fish in the tank. I had blue devil damsels that hid from it and a firefish was ripped apart. I pulled him after a week. If yours are the same fish, hope you have better results. Your tank is...
I had an issue back in 2008, with every fish that I bought that year dying. After looking back, all my fish came from one store. So I stopped buying from them. I've had much better luck with fish since. Apparently it appears some stores just don't get quality live stock. Maybe it's cheaper...
I assume you got 15 blue leg hermits not 15 blue knuckle hermits. I had a blue knuckle a while again, it was cool, but much bigger and knocked frags over constantly. If they are blue knuckles, make sure you secure your frags good.
I'm guessing should try the SCA-301 since you've got it. If you're looking to get another, I would buy the SCA-302 this time. I've got mine in about 9" of water and it works well at the depth running between 3 - 4.
You could try the SCA line of skimmers. I've had my SCA-302 for a few years and it's been great for my 90. It's a Bubble Magus knockoff, you can get on ebay for under $150. They have the SCA-302 (pump inside), SCA-303 (pump under) and the smaller SCA-301 (pump under). The footprints are...
