Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Drills torques arent all equal to the number shown. Use the around the middle setting. Generally, low is for soft woods and high is for masonry. Going a low-med speed you should be fine.
Also make sure the battery is fully charged before you start.
Did a huge trim back on Gracilaria Hayi, got 2 portions to give to NJRC members free or some zoas/soft coral trades! Pick up is at 08882.
I got some kenya fingers in my sump as well if anyone wants those tossed in. Can also try to pop some zoa heads if it doesnt give me too hard a time.
The design on it is nice, socks are easy to swap, 3 chambers and it can hold a sponge in the last baffle to stop stands of macro or inverts from getting into the return pump.
If you can manage to find an used 30g 36x12x16, you can get baffle kits online. You could also cut your own baffles but its honestly a real pain in the ass to break a tank down and cut the pieces yourself over getting some hardware/glass store to do it. It's not all too difficult to do, unless...
Upgraded my sump few months ago, don't need the 29 anymore. Its 3 chambers and worked well for tumbling chaeto in the middle. If you got a frag, certain inverts or something, I'd appreciate it, but if not that's OK too! Pick up is 08882, not too far from exit 9 on turnpike.
Sure!

"Other processes that inhibit crystal growth in reef tanks involve both phosphate and organics that get onto the growing crystal, inhibiting it just as magnesium does. Here’s a link to some data on the binding of phosphate to...
Randy-Homes has this article on calcium and mentioned that phosphates can bind onto aragonite surfaces, so if your using rock/dead coral from another tank that had a high phosphate concentration, that could be a source. (tank crash or someone got out of hobby and sold the rock) This probably...
Try picking out the bubble without popping it, and throw in some snails to eat whatever grows on the walls. 24h light might also be contributing , you can try reducing the light to reverse schedule and see how the tank reacts.
Ghost shrimp are getting fairly rough to find in a regular basis. Does any breed or know of any shrimp breeders with excess they are willing to sell? The same goes for mollies and other culls, no goldfish or rossies though.
