30/45 gallon tank, really just need it to be 3 ft long. It will be for a freshwater tank for my sister. Would prefer if it has filter/heater/light/stand, but not required.

Being a slow leak and not from the bulk head seals, it's highly likely its the silicone. You can probably reseal it after its empty and save the tank, but that always comes with a risk.
You can try squirting peroxide on them with a pipette. Longspine urchin won't touch the stuff, I tried. I think there are other inverts that eat it but then your gonna have starving inverts and isn't really an ideal solution.
I got those growing between my palys, always figured it was some type of sponge but it hasn't harmed them so I just let them be. Curious to get a conformation on what it really is lol.
