Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
LOL.
That is part of the reason I suggested a jar instead of a bottle, then the clown can get out on his own if he goes in, and you may be able to lure the wrasse in over time. Clearly the clown is unconcerned :)
I second that the frag tank looks fantastic.
for the wrasse, if you have enough room add a jar with some pellets o the tank. Eventually he will go in, you can remove the jar, and you have caught him. This simple method has worked for me in nanos in the past.
Thanks! I am excited to try it over the (80g) frag tank with the T5s I think the acros might like it :)
Xavier, we went with T5s over our frag tank because of extreme bleaching of chalices under LEDs and because our white, blue and royal blue AI sol blue led made all of our acans look orange.
I grew up in the United Arab Emirates, and we would go snorkeling at the coral islands off of Abu Dhabi, and when we would go away for weekends to Jebal Ali, Sharjah, Fujairah, and Oman we would snorkel there. The persian gulf and the sea of Oman are part of the arabian sea, and have very...
I grew up abroad, and I got in to the hobby because I missed snorkeling with my Dad. Seeing the clown and the damsels and the butterfly he bought me made me think of him, and made me miss him less when he was abroad and I was here. That is how I got started back in the 1990s :)
Thanks! I believe I won the standard one, but an LED from a free raffle is an LED from a free raffle, I am very excited to set it up.
I didn't love the Mazaras when we set them up, and they have grown on me too :)
We have run compact fluorescents and metal hallides in the past.
We currently run Maxspect Mazarra LED fixtures over the display tank, a 6 bulb T5 fixture over the frag tank, and a stock JBJ LED hood on our 12g nano.
The compact flourescents ran over our 12g, and we kept LPS pretty...
Wow.
Mike (MNAT) is my husband.
He has been responding to you since you started this thread.
Just my opinion, but I thought we were trying to help you.
Keep going slow.
You have started your cycle with dead shrimp. The decaying shrimp is not something you can easily undo now.
Had you not gone the shrimp route, instant cycle products like Dr. Tim's might have been something you could move forward with quickly, but I would not advise that at...
The "more" is acros and one favia I believe (but I am not certain since I thought we had bought 5 things from this vendor and Mike says closer to 10). . .
Sounds like you have a great plan so far!
You may also want to keep an eye on the selling forum on our board (members only) and the one on Reef Central, if you are looking for a used large tank, you may be able to find a deal on one of these sites if the CL tank falls through.
I have a Yasha and I love him.
Be prepared for the tiger to steal things. I have one in the 12 and another in the 205, and earlier this week, the tiger in the 205 stole a plate coral and dragged it a good 12 inches to try to incorporate in his burrow.
Frags on the sand bed are likely to...
Lol!!
George, strangely enough we do OK with the 205, but not the nano.
They jump at the 205, but they don't really try to get in to it. They are not really trying to get in to it- if they were it would have happened already.
On the other hand, one of our cats lays on top of the canopy for the...
