Thanks Mike :)
We were struggling with aggression from some of the larger wrasses, so over the course of the last 6 weeks we have given the three bullies away.
Our goal is a peaceful community tank.
I have been dreaming of a school of assessor basslets for about 4 years now, and Mike...
I agree with Mike.
If you want to add a star, once nitrates and nitrites are both 0 and holding steady for a couple of months, you could consider a red linkia or a serpent star.
I have a red linkia now that previously resided in our 12g and our 45g nano before we set up the big tank.
The...
Welcome back, Austyn.
I grew up in that sand box :)
How was your trip (aside from HOT- I know 'dhabi summers)?
Did you take a boat out to the islands off of Abu Dhabi (the real ones)? Did you get to go to Jebel Ali or Fujairia? Did you go to Oman?
Did you go to the animal souk and see the...
Bottom frag is a purple bonsai. There are a couple different versions of this one, one with a slender growth pattern, another with a thick chunky growth pattern. Nice pickup regardless.
Don't quit. You have come way too far to quit.
Next time, look for the blue stripe pipe fish. I know it is far, but Trop can order them in (they had them recently but I believe they are currently sold out). We have one in our reef and he is really lovely. That looked like a dragonfaced, the...
Hi Matt,
We ran a 57g for about 1 year, and a 45g cube for two years before that. The skimmer may not be removing much from the water, but at a minimum it is oxygenating it. When we ran the 57 and the 45, the skimmers pulled out a lot of crud from similarly stocked tanks (substitute the tang...
Hi John,
First, I am so sorry for your loss.
We recently shipped a fish to Hawaii. It was almost $300 to ship one fish.
How many fish do you have?
FedEx is the best bet, priority overnight.
We ran AI Sol Blues over our 30g cube for one year and over our 57g for one year. We liked them. We bought the fixtures in 2010 and 2011.
The first AI LED fixture was the SOL Blue, the second was the VEGA, third was the Hydra, now there is a new and improved Hydra 52 that just hit the market...
I am not so great with the camera, but here you go (photos are from my iphone of our old 57g tank). It is the tall skinny yellow/green guy, partially cut off in the photo on the left, but clearer view of polyps, and fully visible in the worse photo on the right.
Have you tried removing the rock the nem is on from the tank?
We got one to move by removing the rock into a bucket of salt water, and the nem wasn't thrilled so it started walking around the bucket.
