Re: Here's my 120
Man Baxter, that is some tank! 3/4" glass? Sheesh. Time to get out the vinegar and paint scraper I guess.
Hey if you need any help (that doesn't involve any heavy lifting), just ask. I have a van, extra pumps, clean garbage cans, etc.
Replaced my failing Sequence Dart return pump with a brand spankin' new Super Dart Gold. The Gold part means a better motor, the US-made Baldor finned motor, the Super part means they put a slightly bigger impeller for more flow (the Dart Gold already does 10% more).
It fit perfectly in the...
Saxby's insane too. I saw a presentation from him at Macna a couple years ago. He sets up big tanks for a living, often builds them in place.
One thing I remember is he showed you how you could rescue expensive glued PVC parts ($100+ valves etc) by melting out the old pipe with a torch.
They did point out something in the Beneful review that made me think, and that is that dogs aren't really designed to live on a cornmeal and grain diet, they're carnivores or at least omnivores. Our last dog got Alpo, which is meat, albeit cooked meat, and she lived a long time, maybe we should...
My dog will eat anything, I don't think he's picky. I feed him Beneful from the supermarket. He's extremely healthy according to our vet (one of our friends is a vet, so he "sees the vet" almost weekly). Sometimes we feed him Eukanuba if she gets free samples. He also likes deer poop.
Before you get the drill....try this:
Get some decent sized (1/4") rigid tubing, and stick it down the drain from your overflow. If you're clever, you can secure it with zip ties. In my experience, this allows the swallowed air to escape from the drain line and improves things considerably.
What he said.
My paint mixer is similar but has a kind of cylyndrical fan on the end instead of the propeller. It's steel, the shaft is stainless, and I think the mixer is galvanized, in any even it hasn't rusted! It's only in there briefly, so metal contact does not concern me too much. I have...
People always mention the sand, but you can't mount it too high in the tank either, or it will suck air from the surface with a s-l-l-u-r-p when it goes to the highest setting, very impressive.
Pay attention to the positioning of the motor relative to the wet side. Very small adjustments are...
All I can add is that I use a big metal paint mixer that attaches to my drill, has a thing like a squirrel cage fan on the end, and with my cordless drill that really gets the water going. You can mix the salt water up pretty quickly that way.
What is the rule for sizing of avatars? It keeps telling me it's too big, or not doing anything. I looked for a FAQ and couldn't find anything about avatars.
Like your Farb avatar BTW. I used to have a bunch of those. Gone with the wind, as they say.
I grow some orchids, and also weird caudex plants like pachypodium sp. Unlike the orchids, they are "unkillable in normal culture."
I used to collect stuff, like liquor minis (500+ of those) and old...
For the lab industry there are plenty of things like that, and they are pricey. The ones I've seen are not as "plug-and-play" as things for the hobby, where it's assumed people are less techincal. A science type might do his or her own programming within the reporting environment. You might want...
