I’d also like to thank @mnat for helping me move the tank and helped leveling the stand. The leveling feet on the waterboxes are a bit annoying because there is so many of them and it requires small adjustments, and tilting back up and then measure.
While I cycle the new tank and continuously introduce my biocube a dirty waterchange water and some sand to increase bacteria , here are a few pictures of my favorite acros in the cube.
To be honest I do dislike having to use clip on filters for my phone to take pictures during actinics with leds, but my phone simply cannot register all the blue light like a larger camera does with plenty of editing. However getting the g5 blues over the big tank makes me regret not putting the g5 blues over my smaller cube. I enjoy the extra blue, I was always a fan of radium 20k bulbs on a magnetic ballast with vho super actinics but thats way too much electricity now a days.
In my biocube I had one of my cc space cakes favia got completely stung to death by mushrooms since that tank is now a mushroom heaven. I took the skeliton of what was left of my favorite favia to the new tank and it seems to really love not getting stung. It started to sprout tissue out of some of the skeliton craters. I also threw in a raptors peace favia and it’s loving the stronger light and abundance of minor elements that my biocube has depleted.
Tested my phosphates today on the new tank that had all dry never used marco rock. Some people say that it leaches phosphates, I hope it hurries hah because phopahates are zip been feeding my three chromis extra heavy to keep the algeas growing. The favia that I threw in that was almost dead is coming back real strong.
Stopped by reefco yesterday to pickup a few things. Can’t say enough good things about Brian. With the tank build he has been there with quick responses with questions and anything I needed. I picked up a pair of bangai cardinals to help add to the waste for my rocks. Also picked up some marinepure blocks to section off my skimmer and fuge. Every successful tank I ever ran was able to support macro. If I can’t cleft my macro growing then available nutrients in the tank are going to limit some coral growth. So feed heavy and export heavey. Untill my lid arrives for this tank I am sticking to relatively cheap fish and more docile ones. I will also be switching to esv two part on this and going away from my brightwell additives. So far I have been adding corals here and there trying to get the calcium and alkalinity down to match my biocube before I move over acros and then hook up the doser.
Here were a few more corals I moved over. All of these corals were banished to caves in my biocube because there wasn’t any space for them. They were around 75 to 100 par. I think they should like seeing the sun now in this tank.
