Dan's 150 Rebuild

Lol well i just meant for the initial start up. Like if i was saving for a mp40 and only had 1, id be okay for the time being until i got a 2nd.

I have someone on R2R that wants to sell me a 1 year old apex gold for $415 shipped and an additional $80 for the wxm module. This is a good deal right?

Actually he said it doesnt come with the following: "Except for the pm2 module, orp probe and salinity probe"

At first I thought good deal. But the apex gold comes with the pieces he is not including. So that would make it not a gold anymore. Just saying.
And make sure you want the WXM before you buy it. I got and months later it still sitting there. I just use the controllers that come with the vortech and I'm happy enough

ask for a picture of the actual modules. this doesn't sound like a GOLD. sounds more like a Apex Jr with the additional modules.

once you get them, post them here or compare them to the GOLD package Apex sells.

Here's the pic he sent me

looks like the full apex to me, definitely ask about the PH probe. however, you can score them off ebay for pretty cheap. not going to be the 100% accurate of PH readings but when is anything 100%? plus, I usually don't pay attention to PH unless it's below the norm, which the cheap PH probe can definitely tell you. get yourself some calibration fluid and the cheap ones will last you the recommended year from first hand experience.

Alright I'm definitely going to ask him if this is the model that can have numerous expansions. If it is the JR but just upgraded to an eb8, it may be limited to expansions and that's not what I'm looking for at all.

definitely not a Jr, the Jr has 4 outlets within the body of the actual module. You're definitely getting a Full Apex with that.

I have both Jr and Full and can tell you. if you want i can take a photo of the Jr for you later when i get home.

So do u think its worth it? $415 shipped. If I want the wxm module its an additional $80

He said its a new standard probe and all original parts from the package so no JR.

its a good price for a used one but if you're not in a rush to buy, i would wait. i've seen some full apex sold for less than that. just keep your eye out in the usual places and be ready to paypal. lol I got my Apex Full for $300 but that was like 2 years ago.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I think I've seen em cheaper and they came with more. I'll keep looking and keep this guy on the back burner for now I guess

Alright let's put the apex on hold for now, I'll probably wind up buying a new one.

About my rock. Its all dried out now but it still has a hint of vinegar on it. Will this be okay since I'll have to cycle the tank anyways or should I soak it in water?
