Dan's 150 Rebuild

The nice thing with starboard is when your zoas or paly grow too big you can SCRAPE em down to size without worry to the glass. I even got a green favia that's headed that way.

I just bought a PM1 module and a breakout box for my apex system.. But now I'm just realizing the apex lite base has ports for pH and the breakout box. Do I need a PM1 in order to run my pH probe???

Don't think so, I opened it. And i got it from aquarium center and it says right on the receipt, "no returns, contact manufacturer" I guess I can call and ask em

Can't hurt. They might just give you credit or something. Or post it up on RC or R2R. It will be gone niño time.

Was able to return the PM1 for a PM2 straight up. Also picked up some PH calibration fluid. Question, how submerged should the pH probe be in my sump?

The minimum is enough to wet the glass frit bulb. But here's the important point, you never ever want to totally submerse the probe past the top of the glass portion. It will immediately ruin the probe.

I have mine in a probe bulkhead to make sure the top never gets wet.

Here it is new, without the probe:

And here you can see it with the probe just to the left of the egg crate at the rear of the sump.
