If you are getting plastic for the floor of the tank, Star board or whatever realize that the silicone on the inside extends into the tank further than the wall thickness. Just get it to what you want for glass and cut the edges with any power saw. The round cut for the overflow makes wonderful DIY covers for the overflow.

Yeah I dunno if I should just get 2 pieces cut to my tank specs and then shape it as I need. I don't have many tools tho so I dunno how easy it'd be for me to do. I have a dremel but that's about it
 
You can cut it with ease using a skill saw. Buy it as the floor measures and then trim it to fit....can't stress that enough. Otherwise you will still have to trim it or it will be too short. Jut my 2 cents.

Alright. Sounds like a plan. I know I've probably asked this more than once but I can't find it in my thread. Who has the cheapest material?
 
I think what joe is hinting a towards is that $100 is a drop in the bucket compared to what sand would cost for you tank.
