Dan's 150 Rebuild

Not that im in a rush for more lights but does anyone know of any smaller T5 fixtures to fit on either side of my LED fixture?? The fixture is 4ft so I'd basically have a foot on either side. I think i wanna try the T5/led combo eventually.

Well I know they make 12" T5 fixtures because that is what I have over my saw in the shop. The issue is that I am not aware of anyone making the fancy aquarium bulbs for this size fixture. I have a "standard" bulb in my little fixture that was purchased at Home Depot. The bulb (without pins) is actually 11 3/8 inches long.

Hmmm yeah I guess I'll have to do a little digging around. I also will have to measure to make sure I have the correct amount of space. I remember Cora life made a small t5 fixture but don't think it'd be good enough to penetrate to the sandbed.

I believe the corallife is standard t5, not ho. Do I don't think that will work for you. Current usa user to make 16 inch ho fixtures.

Yeah I didn't think the Coralife would work, plus they're like 6w bulbs Lol... And 16inch is definitely too big, not enough space. I'm almost positive I have less than a foot per side.

If there's no T5s that I can fit in that spot, what else could I try? I've only ever had experience with t5 and led. (I know I should sell my ReefBreeders and get 2-3 led fixtures to spread out but I don't have that kind of money Lol)

Its an 18 inch tank but, I have the fixture sitting on a sliding track to move forward and back for water changes so it would have to sit on that. The track is about as wide as the ReefBreeders fixture. Like 7-8inches I believe

Thats what I'm worried about too. The color. I posted on R2R about this too so I guess we'll see what people come up with. Someone already said lay em front to back Lol which might work but who knows

what tells you that? i'm using them right now. philips brand. hd sells it for $30-$40. i just noticed how many responses, views, and pages your thread has since 1/04/14. that is incredible, and i am very jealous lol.

Well, will a $20 bulb 27in above the sand bed really have an impact on coral?

Lmao yeah this thing has been ongoing for awhile. Plus I ask a TON of questions if u haven't noticed lol

Nooo, I already got a bulb for my fuge Lol.. Picked that up yesterday, I'm talking about adding 2 fixtures to the sides of my tank for more coverage.

Might be picking up a nice trio of lyretail anthias today(2 female and 1 male), my LFS has a very awesome trio in stock, 2 of which have been there for at least a week(m&f), gonna stop in later on and check em out. Anything to look out for?
