A Sailfin or Orange Shoulder in a 150???? I've seen a full grown Sailfin in a 450 gallon, and it looked a bit cramped. THese fish get over a foot long.

Sailfin,I'm not interested in. LiveAquaria recommends 180 for an adult orange shoulder. Don't see any harm in getting a juvenile one at 3-4" for the 150.

That is a great price on that achillies. If my qt wasn't full I'd seriously consider on. I think the tang police may say that a 150 is on the small side for an Achilles. :) somebody mentioned a mimic tang and I think they are way underrated as adults. I think they are pretty hardy also especially compared to an Achilles.

Well I'm always gonna hear it from the tang police but I figured out a way around that... Don't listen to em Lol nah but I hear ya Mike. I like a lot of em, just happens they all get pretty big. Still up in the air however :/

Back to my lights. Well remember how I was asking about adding T5's on each side of my led fixture? Well after coming up short with finding a 12" fixture, I've decided to look into led strips. Don't know much about them tho. Any ideas/recommendations?

Well I'm starting to see some phosphates now. Just did a test today.
Calc 480ppm
Alk 8.3
Phos 0.16ppm
Mag 1320ppm(may be wrong, gotta get a new red sea kit)
nitrates 5ppm

Anyone have any recommendations on strip LEDs? And also 3.5 cups of pellets seem to be a lot in that reactor. Does this sound right to everyone?(right now there's only 1 cup in there, im gonna add another half cup today or tomorrow)

My questions are piling up, I would love to get some advice guys.
1. Recommendation on LED strips?
2. Does 3.5 cups of pellets sound right for my system?
3. What kind of pump could I use for my RODI can so I can just pump water directly into the tank and avoid buckets all together? A small Mag?

1 Jim aka downbeach is selling lights that would work perfect for you on deals and steals
2 can't help you
3 can't you just run the line right to your top off tank and install a float valve?

Not sure if that helped

Thanks Dan, I was looking at Jims before but maybe I'll have another look. And no I can't bc my trash can of rodi water is in a corner of the room, there's a walkway between my tank and can so that's a no go. I was just seeing if I can use a pump just to pump the water up and into my DT rather than fill 3-4 buckets each time and lift them up over my head lol

Wuth regards to the ato top off a peristaltic pump would be ideal. You could really use any pump that you want as long as it could handle the head. Keep in mind though level of the discarch vs. the water level in the ato container. If the discharge is lower it will start a siphon. That isn't an issue with a peristaltic pump.

Wait. Let me clarify. And im sorry I didn't say this before. This isn't for my ATO. This is my 26g mixing trash can I'm talking about. For after I'm done doing a water change. Instead of dumping buckets back in, just throw a pump in the mixed can and flip the switch so I can stop with the buckets Lol
