Dan's 150 Rebuild

Amazing. Lil bit of vinegar, lil bit of water and a razor blade scrapper, should be clean in no time. How long until its okay to put something in the tank? Like will the vinegar be dried up and out in 3 weeks?

120lbs starting point. Depending on the amount of open space you have. that should give you 1.5-2" if you have a good amount of rock sitting on the bottom.
Heck if you go with the tropic Eden and you get to much, I'll buy what's left.

That's what I was thinking. I'm not gonna go with the tropic eden stuff tho that's too expensive, plus like I said, I can get 3 bags of pink fiji for free at aquarium center bc I get $60 off my next visit Lol

I should have a bunch of reef flakes left when I'm done. I figure I would rather have too much than not enough and have to wait to get more shipped to me

Okay real quick tho, back to my previous question. How long before its okay to put water in this tank? After cleaning it with vinegar

Matt let me know

Dan you should be good to go as soon as its dry. The smell may linger, vinegar is like that. By the time you clean the tank of algae then give it a good rinse all will be well. Don't forget some people dose vinegar.

Ahhh good point John. Awesome thank you. This should be easier than I thought it'd be. Rinsing it out is gonna be the tough part lol

Reef Flakes seem to go a long way. I put 90# in my 315 and I thought it was too much. I ended up pulling out about half of a 5 gallon bucket a few weeks ago and may take out some more.

I bought a 40# bag of sand (can't remember what kind) do my 12x36 and it gave me about 2-2.5" depth so using that math 3x that much would do the same depth for your tank so 120# I think would be more than enough if you wanted about 2" of depth.

Well I ordered the plumbing supplies last night, should be here in a couple days. I ordered 1 of 2 wp40's from eBay. I decided to go with 2 wp40's and 1 wp25 since I already have one. Hopefully in the next couple days, gonna order my return pump or go out and buy one.

Also cleaned the whole tank last night, algae came off rather easy so now I just gotta rinse it off(somehow) and let it dry :) stand is being built as we speak, things are rolling :)

So enough talk about the set up for now. Let's talk livestock. What I will be transferring over
