Dan's 150 Rebuild

Well I managed to get to my dads today to continue staining the wood. The stand came out ehhh. Lot of uneven spots. May have to do a second coat. The canopy is almost finished, just have one more panel to do. Looks like its going to be better than the stand

Sanded down a few spots and redid certain parts of the stand and canopy. Everything turned out great. I moved the tank from the garage into the living room to get the glass room temp. Gotta paint the back.

Do you guys think the back glass would look better black or blue?

Looking good dan! I do like the look of blue but it shows algae more than the black.

I'm a huge fan of black backrounds, In the many show tanks that I see, (IMHO) black give the sense of depth, Blue doesn't do it for me. Only thing is you need to keep it clean.

Yeah I have my tank black right now and I really like it so I'll probably just stick with that. Make life easier in case I don't like blue lol

My wife went with me to the Reef Central holiday sale and waited with me - if you haven't been, there's a terribly long line through the parking lot waiting for the store to open, many hundreds of people.

She said to another wife waiting with her reefer husband - that it was "the longest line of nerds [she] ever saw."

That is funny, my wife has the same thoughts. They certainly are some nice looking rocks, lots of crevices for the pods to thrive.

I'm hopefully going out today to buy most of my plumbing parts. The output on my return is 3/4" so I should probably just get all 3/4" parts right? Any changes in size in the manifold or anything?

Depending on the different items you will be running like a reactor for example you will need and adaptor to go from 3/4" to 1/2" if that's what you reactor takes.
