Dan's 150 Rebuild

I can see it working now that I think about it. Only problem I see is how I can get them all on 1 timer. Would I need a controller if I went this way?

Or you can cheat and use 1 timer for blue and one for white and plug an extension cord into the timers outlet. Then plug all the plugs into the strip and there you go. Haven't tried it but I don't see why it wouldn't work

Yeah i'd have to come up with something or else that's 6 plugs all going into timers Lol

Okay so I have a question about my skimmer. Its been wet skimming for awhile now so I dialed it back and it started getting real foamy which was good but then a few hours later the level inside the skimmer was all the way down. Why does it do that?
Also, is it possible that my skimmer wet skims so much that its lowering my salinity?

Did you feed or dose anything during the few hours it settled out? And yes it is possible that skimming too wet can lower your SG

No feeding. I mean a few pellets but nothing crazy, just a snack I guess lol. I hate when it wet skims, I'm emptying the collection cup every other day

Alright on Saturday I'll be adding 2 more additions hopefully. FINALLY my female BT trigger :) and an Orange Shoulder Tang. Any ideas on how to acclimate these bad boys? I have a feeling my yellow tang is going to bully the OST. Should I try and get the yellow out or just see what happens?

Just see what happens. They will figure out who is in charge and then they will be the best of friends. I have a yellow, Chevy, and a purple that all school together perfectly. They were all added at different times.

I like to just let them fight it out. When I added my Yellow tang, the Kole whipped him up pretty good. Red gashes all over his body. Next day all over.

Oh yeah that's right, I remember seeing your tank. Kind of crazy too bc they're all the same body types lol

That's what happened when I had my PBT. The yellow whooped on him for a day and then after that it was all fine.

I hope everything works out, would hate to have to remove the yellow

Anyone have any recommendations on a good light timer?? I'm setting up 3 reef radiance lights(6 total plugs) and I don't wanna have those big bulky dial timers. Takes up way too much real estate and id have to use 2 bricks in order to light all 3. Insane.

The first timer won't work bc it doesn't have 3 prong holes. All of my cables have 3 prongs.

The 2nd one is basically a 3 port extension cord which I could plug all the blues into that and plug the single end into the timer which would allow me to only use one timer. BUT that also wouldn't work because then I wouldn't be able to do sunrise/sunset... Grrrr....

How about a power brick that has a built in timer? I know the coralife ones are garbage but any home depot brands that could work? Or any other brand for that matter

:(:(:(
I used two of these mounted in my cabinet, plugged into two of these, plugged into another power strip mounted in my cabinet.
I don't think another strip is gonna help me. I already have 2 power bricks underneath my tank :( I can probably eliminate one of them but then I'd still have 3 bricks underneath.

Someone on RC recommended a reef keeper lite? is that something that could work?

You could use 2 timers and 2 power strips. Plug the strips into the timers and use 1 for blues one for whites.

When I started I just did as Kevin explained. Two timers and two strips. Done and done.

But a controller may be to this day the best money I've spent in this hobby. I started with the Apex Jr, and it was great but after about a year I upgraded to the Apex lite after finding a good deal.
I know many have there preferences, and most will suggest either the apex or reef angel. But I can't say enough about the Apex myself.
