Aluminum foil will work in the water?Or save yourself some money and wrap it in aluminum foil. Your can even make a door.

Yeah its in the sump. Does it make a difference whether its internal or external?
Nah I thought about having it external but I had so much room in the sump, plus if it leaked for any reason, it would just dump back into the sumpI thought your reactor was external for some reason. I wouldn't take a chance using it in the sump..
Hey Paul, will the drain pipe cover for the BP work in the water?
Alright good. I'll probably go out and pick some up sometime this weekI hope so....mine has been in water since I set it up. It's just polyethylene (or one of it's cousins), is my guess. Safe to use in tanks.
Alright, I really need some help guys. Cyano. How do I get rid of it? I siphoned out, took rocks out, scrubbed them, went lights out for 2 days. It seemed like it worked a little but it keeps coming back even thicker it seems. I feel like some of my zoas aren't appreciating it either
All are in check except for my phosphates, they're a tad bit high. Still trying to get my biopellets underway. My nitrates are below 5ppm always. No ammo, no nitrites, alk and calc are stable, mag is a little high but nothing crazyOn my tank in the past I used red slime remover and it worked well. What are your parameters at?

Skimmer is fine. Emptying it once a week with thick gunk. How is your skimmer performing? Do you have it set to skim high?
The only thing I can think of is it is coming from the pellets/bacteria.
I may try the red slime remover, if it doesn't work, would I essentially have to go back to GFO?Cyano was the main reason I shut the pellets off. remove the pellets and the cyano will go away.
I am sure i was doing something wrong but everything i tried didn't work. i removed the pellets and my cyano cleared up. It wasn't worth me trying to get them to work right for me.
Yeah maybe try high capacity this time. I hate voicing opinions on this stuff because it starts a war (much like vortex and jaebo, leds vs. Halides, etc.) but I would never run biopellets on a tank. I've seen nothing but poor results in the case of sps which obviously is important to me. Leaves them very pastel and dull. Though I speak from lack of experience because I have never tried them. I've seen enough threads on reef2reef though to stay away.Skimmer is fine. Emptying it once a week with thick gunk.

I mean that's just me, nobodys tank is the same but these guys had massive beautiful acros so I trusted their experience. Trust me I hope it works out for you buddy. Maybe you should just give it a few more weeksHmm that's comforting news Kyle Lol darn it. Well I hope this red slime helps. If not then I guess I have no choice but to go back to GFO :/
