Finally got around to putting the 400Watt MH's up i got from Bax.. wow is the tank bright now.. got red cyano down there at the moment due to neglect. between work/yard work/ army stuff have been WAAAAYYYY to busy. pics tomorrow maybe and all but the Ring Tail tangs are still growing and having a blast..

(Mr RingTail met MR Carpet Nem.)

One of these days i'll follow through on the pictures :p .. i have decided that i am going to move this tank into the garage when it gets built. i'll put a nice little fish room and some solar tubes in to cut down on my electric usage. unfortunately thats not till next year.

but in good news we will be getting married in august in beautiful Negril Jamaica. 12 days there will be just enough :) can't wait!!

Time for an update before a big change in the next two weeks. Me and my brother are going to completely redo the rock work and add more rock, put the 75RR on a stand of it's own and i'm going to plumb it all in with a 100gal stock tank ( so far) :) This will give me a Full 75RR fuge to keep mangroves and whatever else i want. also no more bumping my head for the skimmer.

but some progress shots. Corals haven't made it down there too much because i knew that i needed more rock (200lbs or so looks tiny). I'm also kicking myself in the butt for using the Fine oolite sand.. The sleeper goby is making a mess, i even had a filter sock overflow.. on with the pics!

I'll have a SailFin Tang nice and Fat for sale here soon as well.

Group shot. 3 baby Oc. Clowns with a larger Oc. Clown

And i do have a Blue background for the tank but it's a sticky one so i gotta get help to no bubbles

Saturday is the day I'll be re plumbing the tank to the 100gal stock tank and the 75 transformed into a full fuge..

and i blew large holes into the sand after moving the powerheads around. fun :p

probably going to get a 1" scwd from the hidden reef since the LFS doesn't have one in stock and try that for some more motion in the tank out of the mag 18 then get another mag for the 75rr..

what size would you suggest for a refuge?

Brandon

IMO, 350 gph is plenty of flow thru a 75 g fuge. You could push it to 500 but I don;t see the benefit. Now, you still want a PH or two in your fuge for internal flow within the fuge itself.

I have not tried a 1" SCWD. I did like the smaller version on smaller tanks, but you may want to look at an OM squirt or super squirt for that sized tank. ( Which would easily fit in my new office BTW! ;) ) Or even a 1" Sea Swirl or two.

14hours later, 1 pair of salt soaked shoes + pants, sore back. 20+gallons of saltwater on the floor and 3 inches deep under the stand. its almost done....

i've increased the Water level in the system by 100gals i would estimate. + 40gals in the 75RR and about 9inches in the 100Gal Stock tank. i'll make it downstairs to take some pics. Check back!

no pictures yet i've been back to work but i got flatworms. :( .. red planaria to be exact in the 75 fuge i just set up. LFS is out of Flatworm exit (just my luck) so ordering some now

I haven't seen a breakout of the red ones since I ran my 75g . I don't know who is responsible for keeping them in check, but I never really did anything special & their numbers just diminished over time. What a PITA non the less!

finally i got to adding rock and re-scraping the 220. We have 3 MIA 1 baby hippo, 1 sleeper goby and 1 Tigertail Cucumber. we're going to rip the tank apart to search for these guys, noone gets left behind. all indications is they are alive but nowhere to be found or stuck where ever they were hiding.

stay tuned........
