Re: Here's my 120
Thank you for the kind thoughts Wendy and everyone, it seems like most reefers are, in general, true animal lovers and can relate to such a huge loss to a family. My wife told me that she read somewhere that if you own a springer and are planning a wedding at home, you better make her a bride's maid, they really become part of the family and will not be ignored. We are keeping in perspective that we had 17 1/2 years of her unwavering devotion, and that is amazing luck, for which we are very greatful.
My Midas Blenny has been MIA for two days now. I keep covers on my ovreflows and egg crate over the entire tank, so I don't think it jumped. It was perfectly healthy and nearly three years in my system. I have absolutly no idea what happened to it?
On a brighter note, I added a fromia star, this has really sweet color
I am also introducing a small psudochromis fridmani (orchid dottyback) I have an established female. I have previously paired two in my past 75 g and hope to be succesful again. To do this I hang a container in the display to isolate the little male and protect him from the female while he acclimates to the activity of the tank and she gets used to him. You can see the female just below and left of the container.
Here's the little guy venturing out of his PVC fitting
Here he is in his PVC refuge
This may take a while. This female, my third OD I have kept, is much much mellower than my original OD female, my first one was just crazy! That was one tough little fish! Becuase this female is more passive I hope for a successful pairing here.
