Zippys tank

I said it before but with water in the tank the stack of flats look awesome. Im not one to copy, but I may need to go that way too. Did you order straight from Marco.

Yeah, I did. The sell it in 40 lb lots. Make sure you choose double sided cuts (actually cheaper). Free shipping. This is just under 80 lbs in DT. The residual was my rock stand for my skimmer to get it to the proper height. I think it's like 113$. The have periodic sales of 10-15% off. Fast delivery too.

I like the stacked rocks, it almost reminds me of like a sunken temple of a city lost in the ocean.

So I actually hooked up an ATO unit today for the first time on my new tank. It's a tunze system and once I got it dialed in works great. I have no idea how I got this far in reefing without one. I guess the bi-daily top off to the sharpie mark became a routine. I also hooked up a bundle Magnus doser to the system and filled the reagent jugs with Ro/di water for now to see how it runs. So far so good. Added some live sand from my DT and also scraped a lot of coraline into a jug to seed the system I just started. Once she matures it should be less of a chore and more of a show and tell. Best part is how silent it is.....even the wife is impressed!

image.jpg 40 breeder under DT. Not sure but will keep it a fuge for now.
image.jpg the sump through the wall to closet. The cut rocks make a great skimmer stand. Again another refugium. This system may have the biggest fuge ever!

Really starting to come together looks good. I also run a tunze and said the same thing how did I go this long without it. The only issue I have ran into is if for some reason the water level goes over the optic "the round pointy thing" it must get confused and it starts pumping till the audible alarm triggers. Now the only time this happens is when I float a bag in prep for acclimation and it raises the level.

Well tank is fine. I really love it's size and location. It will be much more visual and appreciated. Here are some pics that show the DT with a few hang on easy/tough sps. So far really good polyp extension and the acans on the rocks are quite happy. None of these will stay. I just needed to stare at something alive that I could see.lol don't mind the two huge rocks in the middle they are a temporary deal to speed up growth on the new rock.

image.jpg the two live rocks will be removed as things get going.
image.jpg sump through the wall in the bathroom closet.
image.jpg the 40 breeder that sits below the DT. It drains from the sump through the wall and pumped up to DT above. Right now just growing macro to help speed the process.

i really like that shelf look- i think it would look extremly reef like if you put tables on the top rocks with more stags on the outsides. ugh cant wait till i get a bigger tank again.

Pete, looking good. I like that appearance of the corals floating in the tank…..or, a still shot of them raining down. So how are you doing that…..with monofilament (ala Ken Nedimyer)? Are you giving Ken’s system of suspended corals for maximum growth a test run in your tank?
