Thanks, I'm at little at ease. I've had mine in a little over 7 months and they have just stopped working. Not an easy job taking the canopy off and replacing so the next time I will get fans that are made for aquariums.

I'm sorry. Maybe I needed to be more clear. How long can I expect one to last in the canopy considering the salt issues mentinoed above in the thread?

Does anyone know the approximate lifespan of a CPU fan in a canopy of a tank with no top? I know there are a lot of factors, but any idea? 6 months, 1 year?

I got rid of my Kenya. Too much trouble. It was dropping branches every week. I couldn't give enough away and keep up. My tank was becoming overrun with them. Next is the Xenia that came in unnoticed on a rock and is now growing profusely.

Not a bad idea though I cannot comment on them as I've not tried them.
