Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
I've read many threads where userd highly recommend Euro-Reef skimmers. ASM is another that is often recommended. I have an AquaC EV 180 and cannot recommend it at this time.
Sorry for your problems. Hope all turns out well. Also thanks for the info. I use Salifert for ALK and didn't know there was a problem. Now I'll monitor a little closer.
I'm glad for your sake as it could have been a catastrophe. I assume either the power was only off for a few hours or the pumps were on a different circuit and weren't affected.
I don't know about you guys in the south but there was a bad storm here last night in the north. I never saw so much lightning in my life. At one point the weatherman on the 11 o'clock news stated there were over 100 strikes within 15 minutes :o. Glad it's over and hope everyone made out ok.
I've added a few sps frags to my tank :) over the last month or so and I notice my calcium levels have decreased :(. The last two times I tested they were at 350 and I've had one reading of 320. I change about 15% (considering the water in the sump) of the water weekly. I want to get the calcium...
Great pics. These are better than you see in magazines. I can only hope to one day take pics as awesome as those. The corals are awesome too. Any names?
Totally your choice. I am able to view three sides of my tank so I keep those sides clean. I use a mag float and when coraline grows on it I use the scrapper. I don't worry about the back walls or the overflows.
I used two lego blocks to raise it 1" off the bottom. I first applied the glue to the walls of the sump about 1" apart. Then I placed the glass on the in onto the silicone and then I siliconed the sides again. Hope that explains it.
